Dexter actually really wanted to keep Stella away from Jasper. Dexter's ambition is to immediately snatch Stella from her husband's side. But indeed Carolina could never let go of herself, to leave Carolina alone.
For some reason, sometimes Dexter still doesn't think about the circumstances of the people around him. He only focuses on what he wants, without caring about the people around him. And he also seemed to no longer try to consider the feelings of these people.
Whether it was love or not, he didn't care anymore. And he just wants what his wish is to come true. Dexter is indeed sometimes never aware of his selfish attitude that has hurt many people. Even though he might know that Stella still doesn't love him, in fact he is still forcing his love that Stella doesn't want.
