Chereads / Materialistic Woman / Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 02.

Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 02.

Vanessa took a step forward, with a push of her hand, the arrogant but stunned Kylie slumped straight on the floor.

Vanessa slightly smiled and said, "That's right, I'm not Vanessa Vincent but Vanessa Laurent now. If I complain to my spouse do you guess he will take my side or a little attendant like you..?"

Vanessa's face still maintained a weak appearance but her voice could intimidate people.

Kylie hastily bit her lips closing her mouth before she uttered any more profanities, although she could bully her because of her timid personality before, she wasn't brave enough to hit someone, she was actually a coward inside and now this woman was nevertheless the wife of the 2nd Richest Man alive.!

Kylie had no choice but to act politely, "Lady Vanessa, don't get angry! I will quickly bring you breakfast!"

Kylie hurriedly stood up about to go out, Vanessa carelessly said behind her, "Call Hailey up as well."

Watching Kylie go out, Vanessa stepped towards the floor to ceiling long mirror in front of her, a face with no outstanding features reflected, her pale white complexion and dull skin could reveal how she was cared for within the Vincent House.

Her mother was dead in a car accident, and her stepmother didn't supervise her at all. She lacked food every other night because the servants kept ignoring her. Vanessa unexpectedly grinned, she didn't care about others. She didn't expect Andrew's love, all she wished for was independence.

A tall girl almost 6'2 walked in, this was Hailey Rylenar, noticing Vanessa staring into the mirror, she asked, "Does Lady prefer to apply makeup today?"

"No need, I want to meet my stepchildren, prepare for it." Vanessa glanced behind at Hailey and announced.

Hailey was a bit surprised, "Lady, it's your first day in the Laurent Family, I think you should impress the master instead.."

Vanessa didn't speak just stared at Hailey, after a while of confrontation, Hailey gave in and stepped out.

Vanessa picked up the scissors and cut short her waist-length hair to right above her shoulders, clenching the sliced hair, Vanessa murmured to herself, "This is my opportunity..!"

Vanessa wasn't somebody who had future memories or someone from a high-level tech world, her only hope was to live in comfort!

After eating the sandwich and milk tea sent by Kylie, Vanessa ordered, "No need to prepare gifts or so, it's just a meeting."

Kylie and Hailey glanced at each other, wondering if they heard right, Vanessa didn't want to impress them..?

Kylie as a simple-minded person asked, "Really? I guessed after all they are your new stepdaughter, what if they complain and you get divorced..!..haha..cough.."

Hailey silently poked Kylie's waist to stop her from laughing, between them, Hailey was of course the clever one.

Listening to Kylie's question, Vanessa's eyes turned into crescent moons, she chuckled, "Isn't it a mother's job to supervise her children, and I'll do just fine." Under Vanessa's pleasant smile a deep plan was being created.

As Vanessa left her room, she found herself in an elegant living room, the furnishings in this secluded villa was identical to the one the Vincent Family used for their main hall.

Vanessa tried to recall, but it seems she had never encountered her so-called step-children, stepping out of the villa, she headed towards the main mansion.

Yvonna Laurent was having lunch in the main dining room with maids behind her waiting for her to finish. For a while, Yvonna didn't recognize the woman entering from the main door, "The Charity Program isn't today, who are you people?"

Yes, Yvonna had forgotten that there lived a new stepmother in the house.

"Lady Yvonna, this is Vanessa Vincent, the new wife." An old housemaid whispered behind Yvonna.

It was only then did Yvonna's brain ring a bell, she couldn't imagine that this average-looking woman was her stepmother, but her brother nevertheless asked her to be respectful, "Sorry Aunt, I didn't recognize you, we all are busy so we couldn't entertain you last night haha.."

In the dining room, the old housemaid behind Yvonna brought her a cup of tea, "It's alright, you are occupied with studies, I merely had a little favour to ask from my daughter."

Yes, Vanessa had no embarrassment in being called an aunt or calling her just one day stepdaughter "my daughter", she could do anything to accomplish her purposes.

Yvonne was a little stunned, as a person who hadn't seen the world and was protected by her father all her life, she didn't realize Vanessa's pretense.

"Moth..Mother.. please tell me." Yvonna couldn't help realizing her throat was a little itchy when she called a girl barely three years older "mother".

Vanessa glanced at Yvonne, she was an ignorant eighteen-year-old, with bright blonde hair, her face was small and delicate-featured, somewhat fragile, and intelligent in expression. She plays it down by wearing little make-up, a loose-fitting vintage dress and flat shoes.

"I need to visit my home to bring some of the items I left behind. I hoped that you could lend me some of your bodyguards, daughter." Vanessa's face turned kinder.

Yvonna was a little doubtful, "Huh, you're going back today? Isn't it reasonable to just let the housekeepers bring your stuff..?"

"Of course, you're right daughter, but I want to meet my mother and sister as well." Vanessa expected to go back and face them.

Yvonna was a bit embarrassed, her mother died when she was only three years old and her stepmother was precisely three years older, maybe the stepmother was just missing her family.

Yvonna readily asked the Headmaid behind her, Grandma Fenny, although it was strange to ask for bodyguards to pick up stuff. Yvonna didn't guess too much, she was just a simple and sheltered girl.

Although Yvonna didn't like another woman taking her mother's spot, glancing at the thin woman with simple features, she understood the words of her brother explaining to her that this was merely a puppet and nothing more. Yvonna felt a little sympathy.

It could be seen that at this moment, having an ordinary face gave an advantage to Vanessa.
