Chapter 16 - I Want Her To Stay

Tyler's POV

I know it was beyond my control anymore. I don't know where that came from, and I didn't expect my mouth to say those words. What the hell am I doing? I can't stop myself from getting involved with this young woman. I just wanted to see her happy and hear her laughter. I know I wouldn't say I liked Matthew for hurting Arabella's heart, but I should stop playing as a hero.

I never ask anyone to sleepover in my penthouse, which is the first time, not even Emily. I always came to her place and never here in my penthouse, and I couldn't believe that I asked Arabella to stay the night with me and I knew that it was a crazy idea, but it felt so good. I am getting confused with my feelings right now, but I know that I couldn't be in a relationship knowing Arabella was suffering from her heartaches, and I was trying to save my heart.

I promised myself never to get involved with anyone, but I couldn't stop myself every time I looked at Ara's lovely face; and it felt like the pull was so strong, and I should have never seen her cry because it was that time I realized I wanted to protect her.

"Are you sure about it, Ty?" She asked, and I could tell she was surprised that I asked her to spend the night with me.

"Yeah, you are my girlfriend now, Ara. So, you can stay here any time you want." I said, and she looked at me for a long time.

"I don't think it will be a good idea, Ty, we can't get close like this, and I think this is a big mistake." She said, and I could tell her doubts and uncertainties.

"Why? You feel guilty that you jumped into another relationship after your boyfriend fooled you around?" I asked, and her face fell.

"They hurt you, Arabella, and all I want from you is your cooperation because I want you to be happy, and I want you to forget about Matthew. I hate him for hurting you, and I can tell he is still in love with you." I said, and her face lit up; and I hated to see her have some hope, and I needed to do something about it because I couldn't take it if she would get back with Matt.

"Arabella, I am helping you not get back with your ex because what Tyler had done was the most humiliating thing you have ever experienced, and he hurt you. Do you still consider having him back as your boyfriend?" I asked, and I could feel the pounding of my heart as I waited for her answer. And I felt so happy when she shook her head, and I released a sigh of relief.

"Of course not; Matthew doesn't deserve my time and, most of all, my love. You were right, Ty, he humiliated me, and I felt miserable every time I remember them together, and there is no way I will get back with him, and you are my boyfriend now, right? What will you do if I get back with Matthew knowing you are now my boyfriend?" She asked, and even if I knew Ara was only teasing me, I hated myself that I felt so possessive of her.

"Of course, I will get angry with you, and I will do everything to stop you, Ara. I was there when you found out he was with your sister, so there is no way I will allow you to get back with him." I said, and she smiled at me, and my heart skipped a beat.

"Here is the deal, Ara. I will let you go the moment you find someone whom you think deserving of your love, what I mean someone that you will fall in love with, except Matthew, when you feel you are capable of loving again." I said, and her face fell.

"I don't think it will happen, Tyler. You know I am still mending my broken heart, and do you think I can find someone else? It would be impossible, for now, I have to guard my heart and enjoy my time with you." Ara said, and I couldn't stop smiling like an idiot.

"That is better, Ara," I said, and I brought her back inside the penthouse.

"You need to change because you have to swim with me. I miss swimming, Arabella, and I hope you can accompany me tomorrow. I plan to go somewhere where we can swim alone, and I assure you no one will see us on my favorite spot, just the two of us." I said, and I couldn't read the expression on her face, but I could feel that Arabella was excited about it.

"This would be your room, Arabella, " I said after bringing her to one of the guests' rooms of my penthouse.

"What are these?" She asked me after I handed her the paper bags.

"Your swimming attire and some clothes; I will leave now so you can change into your swimming suit, Ara," I said, and I stifled a laugh when I saw the expression on her face.

I don't know how I feel right now, but I can say that I am so happy that I have Arabella in my penthouse. I strode towards my room and put on my swimming trunks, and I opened my phone to check some messages. I had so many messages from unknown numbers, but there was none from Emily, and I got frustrated, and I got up as I could feel the heaviness of my heart.

I was speechless when I came across Arabella in the spacious living room, and my mouth hung open as I watched her with her two-piece bikini; I know Arabella has a gorgeous body, but I never expected to see her this close, and I felt like a pervert as I continue to gaze at her.

"Do I look that bad, Ty? Maybe that is why Matthew chose Lucy over me." She said, and I hastily moved towards her.

"Hey, Arabella, you looked great, and I was speechless because you are stunning, and you have a great body, Ara," I said as I caressed her face, and I couldn't stop myself from kissing her.

I had been longing to kiss her, and now I got so lucky to taste her enticing lips once again; and I felt so glad she kissed me back with longings, and I felt so happy that Ara was enjoying our kiss as well.

We were both breathless when I released her mouth, and we held hands as we went to the pool. We took turns taking a shower, and then we got into the water; I felt so relaxed when I felt the warm water of the pool. We both enjoyed swimming, and we only stopped when the room service came, I ordered dinner from the restaurant inside the resort, and I smiled when I realized it felt so right to have Ara in my place.

"Wow! The food is great!" She exclaimed, and I liked the way she enjoyed her food. I could say Arabella was different, maybe because she didn't come from a wealthy family, and I could tell she didn't act like her moves were numbered.

She looked so carefree even if I could tell Ara was having a hard time; no one can mend a broken heart overnight, I know how it feels, and I am sure it would take a long time before she can heal her heart and I want to be there for her whatever it takes.

"I will be leaving tomorrow." She blurted out, and I suddenly felt alarmed.

"What? To where?" I asked, and she smiled as she looked at my face.

"Why does it feel like you want me to be here with you, Ty?" She asked, and I looked at her with intensity.

"Because I want you here to be with me, " I responded.

"Thank you, Ty, but I think staying here in the Perfect Blue Island will not do me good. I will only get hurt because I need to stay at my mom's place, and I don't want to deal with my sister every day." Arabella said as she looked at the ocean, and then she raised her head and looked at the stars in the sky.

"Where are you going, Ara?" I asked.

"I will go back to the mainland. I have a job there, Ty. I only came because of the text messages that I received, and now that I found out the truth, there is nothing left for me here on this island." Ara said, and I could feel the sadness in her voice.

"Hey, I am here. I am your boyfriend now, Ara. You have to include me in your plans." I said, and she shook her head.

"Ty, I know the rules of our relationship, it may sound weird, but I accepted it because I wanted to forget Matthew, but right now, I realized I was only fooling myself. I can't use you, Ty." She said, and I moved closer to her.

"You can, Ara. I want you to use me to have your revenge on them." I whispered in her ear, and I nibbled her earlobe, and I smiled when I saw her skin have goosebumps.

"Don't go back to the mainland, Ara; you can have your part-time job in our resort," I said, and she looked at me.

"Ty, I know your family owns the resort, but I don't think I am suitable for working in your resort." She replied.

"Ara, I know you are suitable; you are considered hired," I said, and she only laughed and shook her head, and as I watched her beautiful face, I realized I wanted her to stay the entire summer on the island, and I would do everything I could to make her stay.
