The lamia was taken aback when Anabel suddenly grabbed her, gripping the thorax of her large ant body. "What do you think you're doing?!" the lamia questioned.
"I'm not weak," Anabel spoke as she tightened her hold. "And I'm not afraid of you."
"Unhand me this instant, you stupid vampire!" the lamia raged. "You are weak if you let darkness control you like this."
The lamia couldn't believe how cunning and intelligent the darkness had become. It wanted to use Anabel to get rid of her. 'Did it hear my plans? Does it too know of the emperor of hell and fear him?' she couldn't help but wonder.
"What did this place say to you?" the lamia questioned. "Did it mention the emperor?"
"You and this creepy place that keeps putting voices in my head can't control me anymore." Anabel's voice lowered as she brought the squirming ant closer to her face, "Now I'm in charge."
