Sharon narrowed her eyes at her, "I heard noises."
"I was watching an action movie, maybe that's what you heard," Lily told her with a smile. She yawned, "But it's pretty late, I should call it a night."
"Where's your sister?"
Lily bit her bottom lip and wiped her sweaty palms against her thighs. "She's in her room." A chuckle left her lips as she questioned, "Where else would she be?"
"I heard her voice just now."
Lily hummed and furrowed her brows as she tilted her head to the side. "I didn't hear anything." She placed a trembling hand on her mother's shoulder, "It's late, Mom, you should get some sleep. Your sleep deprivation might be why you're hearing things."
'Hearing things?' Sharon thought. She was sure she heard screams amongst other noises and her youngest daughter calling her. 'Maybe it was all in my head?'
