Helen cried until there were no tears left for her to cry. Only her shoulders shook as she kept her face buried in her late lover's chest. Through her half-lidded eyes, she saw something strange on the skin of his left pec through a tear in his shirt.
With furrowed brows, Helen slowly rose from her laying position and rubbed her red eyes to ensure they weren't deceiving her, but there really was a strange, red symbol there.
She didn't know of him having any tattoos so she anxiously ripped his shirt and that's when she saw the magic circle engraved on his chest. A circle lined by strange symbols and inscriptions she's never seen before and a hexagon in the center.
The blood that seeped from the engraving smelled nothing like his own; it rose a multitude of suspicions in her mind as she thought back to those shamans' plans.
She searched Elias' clothes for his phone and found it in his pants pocket, but the cellular device was too shattered to function.
