The sharp, malicious look Taranis gave her caused a shiver to travel down her spine, but she held a firm expression and a defiant stance; she wasn't going to let him escape her questioning so easily...she needed to know.
"Don't run away, Taranis," Gaia started. "I'm asking you this because I want to help you get out of the denial that's been eating away at you for over a century."
"You think because you've been spying on me for decades you know everything?" Taranis questioned. "You don't know anything about me, so stop pretending as if you do or can in any way understand me."
His words stung, but Gaia never lowered her brave front...it was the mask holding her together, keeping her from breaking down and shattering into pieces.
