"Where are you taking me?" Alia asked again since, for the longest while, her grandmother was only gawking at her.
Mrs. Cross noticed Alia's labored breathing and half-open eyes, and her parted lips curved into a sinister grin as she mocked Alia, her confidence returning. "You're at your limit, aren't you?"
Alia stared at her with dead eyes as thunder reverberated through the grey clouds. Her grandmother was right, she was at her limit, but Alia wanted to keep up the ruse just a little bit longer, at least until Mrs. Cross would've told her where they were heading.
However, she underestimated how quickly the older woman would've been able to see through her plan. Alia had nothing left...she used every bit of power she had left on those last few spells.
