"Love, you've been awfully quiet." Menarx pointed out, stroking Neveah's hair in calming motions.
It had been a while since Kaliana had taken her leave and Menarx had come in a short time ago, having rounded up his duties for the day.
He had come in to meet Neveah exactly as Kaliana had left her, seated on her bed, quietly in thought and Menarx got in bed beside her, adjusting Neveah's position so she now lay on his chest.
The steady beats of Menarx's heart eased Neveah in ways nothing else ever had and it was a much welcome feeling.
"What happened...with Kalia?" Menarx asked when Neveah said nothing in response to his first statement.
"We agreed to disagree." Neveah replied quietly.
"Well, you have done enough, you gave it a chance. No one expects anymore from you." Menarx assured.
Neveah was not sure if Menarx's understanding was what she wanted at this moment, it only made her feel even more frustrated.
