"Yeah. Tortoiseshells are mostly black with orange mixed in while calicos are mostly white with orange and black mixed in. Diluted tortoiseshells or calicos have the black replaced with gray," Elle said in a bit of a daze.
"They both almost entirely female and if males are born, they're infertile and have other birth defects. Cat genetics are actually really interesting because two black cats can have an orange kitten. You don't want to hear about cat genetics though, do you?"
She realized she was rambling because she was still so thrown off that Collin remembered her. She felt like an idiot.
He was very nice about it though. He shook his head with a smile. "Actually, I do. It's not something I know anything about and I'm always down to learn new things."
