Joy's old ring was a simple platinum band with a round stone in the middle. Derek never would have guessed that wasn't what she would have chosen for herself. He was glad they went together so she could get what she liked this time.
She wouldn't stop staring at it the whole way home and he watched her go with his heart full. She was so cute when she was happy and it was rather satisfying that he was the one who made that happen here.
"I'm glad you like it," he said around the lump in his throat.
Joy beamed at him. "I love it! But…uh…what are we going to tell Rachel? And when are we going to do this? We should probably figure that out."
