"I didn't think you didn't like me. I just wasn't sure how things would work out. I was actually planning on forcing you to tell me where you're going today but you beat me to it," Lucy told him.
Preston let out a self-deprecating laugh. "Sorry for making you worry. But…uh…what now?"
"Now you're my boyfriend, obviously."
He grinned at her. "Is that so?"
"Yep," Lucy said nonchalantly. "Come on. Let's go home and you can tell me more about Columbia."
She reached for his hand as if it was the most natural thing in the world. And, honestly, it was. Preston was the person she was most comfortable with aside from her parents. This wasn't awkward at all, even if it did make her heart race.
It wasn't like she thought that wouldn't work but it had still been a bit nerve-wracking because she usually wasn't that bold about going for what she wanted. At least it had paid off.
