Oh. Laney hadn't realized that happened already. Richard hadn't said anything about it before now.
"…you actually plan on having normal working hours from here on out?" she asked doubtfully. That didn't sound like the workaholic she knew at all.
"For the time being. He's still watching me. It would be suspicious if I did too much overtime right after my wife gave birth. I can't do anything either way so it's not a big deal. I told you not to worry about it."
That made sense. Here she thought he was being uncharacteristically considerate but he was being as calculating as always. He was still being considerate but it was only because he had nothing else to do. She knew that he couldn't stand being bored and he needed a way to fill the time he was stuck in the act anyway.
"Let me guess…you're dying of boredom."
