"You really aren't that scary, Adam," Callie said softly with a sympathetic look on her face.
"Thanks but you're only saying that because you're used to me," he replied grimly.
She couldn't even refute it. She had totally been scared of him when they met. Carter too. Though, to be fair, part of that was probably because he had been the big boss right after they were responsible for a fair amount of property damage.
Still. Adam knew the effect he had on people and he didn't want it to mess with their business when it was just starting out. It was better for him not to be affiliated with it at all.
"…I can handle the interviews," Callie said.
And she did. She managed to get several helpers and begin training them within the next week.
