It really didn't make much of a difference to Adam that it was summer since he was basically stuck inside no matter what. He did spend more time on the balcony as Callie worked on the garden though.
They set up a kiddie pool for Carter out there that he could splash in as she worked since he didn't like being left out of things. He said he liked swimming in the big pool better but it was still good having a little one at home. The way he said it was funny. A lot of the things he said were.
Adam was glad to hear that the boy thought of his apartment as home. That meant he would want to come back to visit even when he didn't live here anymore, right?
Carter was rather attached to him. He always wanted to show Adam whatever he was playing with or talk about his swimming lessons and the park and his friends. He didn't realize exactly how attached though until after school started.
