As predicted, Derek was NOT happy about it when Joy explained what she had done. "What?! Why would you do that? You can barely handle being around Harrison! Why would you let someone bring a kid here to rub it in your face?"
He had a point. Being around Harrison was horribly bittersweet. He was an adorable kid and she was happy for Becca but he reminded her of what she had lost every time she saw him.
"She's desperate, Derek! I couldn't just stand by."
"You're always looking out for other people. Why can't you ever look out for yourself?" he demanded as he grasped her arms. "Stop doing things like this, Joy!"
"She said she only needed a place for them to sleep. I'm sure we'll hardly even see him, especially with how busy we are," Joy reasoned, unsure why he was getting this upset on her behalf.
