"Everything hurts," Perry informed the nurse when she asked him how he was feeling. "I am not used to things hurting. I did not have a body until a few weeks ago."
She sighed. "I really shouldn't let you go off on your own. I get off in twenty minutes; let me take you home to make sure you don't fall down an open manhole or something. I feel bad since you couldn't think of a single person to come pick you up and take you home. Do you not have any friends or family?"
"My family does not know I am alive. I am supposed to be inside of a computer."
It seemed that Perry's inability to lie had followed him into his body. Or perhaps it was the effects of the anesthesia. He was being far too talkative but it seemed the nurse was used to people saying crazy things because she was not affected at all.
"…hang in there," the nurse said before getting back to work.
