The mood in the apartment was rather somber as Becca packed up the last of her things. Everyone was home for once—even Marcus—and they all stood around in silence for a few minutes not knowing what to say.
Mateo broke the silence first. "I can't believe you're leaving us, galletita. What are we supposed to do without your baking?"
Becca laughed. "It's not like I won't come back to visit. You guys are still my friends. I can bring you baked goods whenever you want, Mateo."
"A dangerous offer," Jacob warned. "He's going to want them all the time."
"Come on, you know I make way too much for two people. You won't have to worry about not having baked goods. And I'll be sure to bring a Christmas goodie plate for everyone."
"Aww, I didn't even think about you not being here for that! We're going to starve," Mateo said dramatically, making everyone else laugh.
