Lars and his friends got in a huddle as they finalized discussin ghow to bring eiham down.
"6!" Lars exclaimed. "Are you sure you can do this?" He asked.
"You can count on me!" 6 said, as a bright flurry of blue flames emitted from his eyes.
"Foolish Children! You cannot defeat me!" Eiham boomed.
As Eiham prepared another attack on Lars and friends, Lars broke the huddle , and proceeded forward with a smile on his face.
"Alright everyone! Lets take this guy down!" He commanded
"Hell yeh!" Reggie chimed
"No doubt!" 6 replied
"Your not even fighting!" Lance growled. "And since when do I take orders form you?" He said glaring at Lars.
"Alright Baby blue, lets show this guy how D4 gets down!"
"ALRIGHT! GO!" Lars yelled
Darting ahead first Lance overwhelmed Eiham with a series of wind attacks. Placing his sheild up, Eiham defended as best he could, as B came from behind.
"ROCKFIST!" She screamed throwing a fist at Eiham's back side.
Spinning his staff to the other side he held off B's fist attack.
"REGGIE NOW!" Lars yelled.
Once again Reggie jumped into the air with a giant hammer attack, aiming towards Eihams face
"Too predictable" Eiham laughed. Cancelin ghis avata, he dodged B and Lance's attacks and reactivated it in a different positoin.
"What the hell?" Eiham said squinging his eyes. "What are you doing up here!"
619 was flying through the skies, petrified as he cruised towards Eihams avatar.
"Uhhhh shooot! He saw me Axel! What do I do now!"
"Just follow through with the plan!" LArs yelled.
"Ok..." 6 said closing his eyes.
"INSOLENT FOOL! You dare come at me with a frightened child! I will show no mercy!" He yelled raising his staff. Now you fade into the next world along with so many children at the forsaken place!"
As he aimed his staff at 619 he blue shimer began to emit from 6's eyes.
"What the?" Eiham croaked.
"EVERYONE! CLOSE YOUR EYES!" Lars oredered
"HHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAA!" 6 cried.
A giant blue beam of light emitted from his eyes blinding Eiham.
"That light! It did no damage but I can't see what is happening!"
Rolling to the right unable to see, Elham repositioned himself once again with his avatar surrounding him. When he got his vision back, Lars, , 6 and Lance stood in front of him ready to attack.
"Ha! It's no use!" Eiham laughed. "As Long as I have my avatar, I am invincible!"
"Think Again!" Reggie yelled from above him. Once again Reggie decended from above coming down onto his avatars head.
"IMPOSSIBLE! HOW ARE YOU STILL IN THE AIR!"
"Nice one Lance" Lars laughed.
"HMPH!" Eiham groaned deactivating his avatar once agian.
"No matter! I will dodge and then"
BOOOOOOOOOOOM!
A giant hand came from below him wraping itself around him. As it burst through the ground B pushed him into the air, retraining him.
"NOW GUYS! I can't hold him long!"
"Lance?" Lars asked.
"You got it" Lance answered
Rising into the air together, Lance and Lars combined their water and wind together into a funnel of energy that exploded with power.
"AIR!"
"Water!"
"CANNON!" They screamed together.
BOOOOM!
Crashing into the ceiling, Eiham was blasted out of the canyon propelling into the air.
Back on the battlefield as the blue light began to dissapate, various agents watched as a flurry of water and air, blasted Eiham to the skies.
"What the? IS that... one of Darius's guys?" Veronica asked.
"Yeh.. but none of us are inside yet... who the hell?"
"HAHA!!!! LETS GOOOOO!!!" Vincent cheered. He watched with pride as Eiham was defeated.
"Welp, my work here is done! Until next time!" Vincent said scurrying away!"
"HEY!" Core growled "I'm not done with you yet!"
Stomping his feet, Core stampeded towards Vincent blocking his escape.
"It can't be helped" Vincent said twirling his hair. "I'll have to use that attack"
He drew a small flame in his hand and compressed it in his palm.
"CORE GET BACK THATS-"
Vincnet thrusted his hand into Cores chest with all his might, causing a spark to go off.
"Hand grenade!" Vincent cried.
Core was knocked back hundreds of feet, crashing into his comerades.
"COOOOORE!" Vik said grabbing a hold of him.
On the other side of the battle Shine and Sheriff stood in amazement as Obrian. stood over them.
THey layd on the ground, utterly defeated.
"How?" Shine asked. "How did you-"
"Place an ethereal barrier while dodging your attacks, while simultaniously striking you from behind?" Obrian said. "Don't underestimate science"
As his hands glistened with electricity Sherief and Shine looked to each other.
"I'm going to use it" Shereif said drawing out a blue vial.
"Euphoria... You wouldn't dare" Obrian said.
As he came towards them, he suddenly paused.
"What the..." Shine said looking at Obrian. "Is he frozen"
Orbian's eyes shifted to the mineshaft faster than lightning and shuddered as his left eye began to twitch.
Back in the mineshaft Lars and the others gathered around the red computer chip. It hovered in midair protected by an red ethereal barrier.
"Ouch!" lars said after touching it. "What is that red thing!"
"An ethereal barrier" 6 said.
"Shoot, no use then" Reggie said.
"Why not" Lars asked.
"Ethereal barriers are no joke man, it usually takes a specialized team to take those things out! Do you know how much ether it takes to disrupt them!"
"Alot I'm guessing" Lars said scratching his head.
"Judging by the fact this barrier is physically visible, my calculations say more than the ether of everyone of us combined... even if Eiham and his followers joined us... it wouldn't be enough..."
"WHAT!!!!" Lars screamed.
"Ether is invisible, it is only visible for snippets at a time when it is hyper concentrated. A barrier as thin as a millimeter can stop a bulllet from a rifle, with no problem... this is nearly 5 meters wide, it would take multiple blasts from dozens of airships to take it out"
"Well... atleast we got it out of the hands of the bad guys" B laughed.
"Temporarliy but what about the humans! Their not good guys either! Cmon! we've gotta find a way to open this thing up"
As Lars's friends bickered, a dread began to overtake him. He felt a presence as strong as death creeping towards him.
"THis feeling.." LArs thought. "All of a sudden... I... don't want to live..."
6 turned to Lars's position and with a bleeding heart turned away. He silentlently moped as he watch Lars suffer.
"Axel! What do you think?" Reggie asked, tapping him on the shoulder
"It is no use" Jonah said approaching them. "It is time for us to take that power"
In a flash, no faster than a flash, a man in black robes appeared in the center of all of them. It was nearly impossible to see his face, seemingly blocked out by a hoodie.
"To think you would have come this far" He said shaking his head. "That tells me our fates truly are intertwined."
"What... what are you talking about!" Lars said.
"This is the guy you were tallking about earlier!" Lance said. "This is why you have been behaving so strangely! Tell me now! What did you do to Axel! What power does he have?"
As the hooded man looked over to Lance he raised his right hand. His hand began to gather ether causing gleam shone across its surface.
"Silence" He said.
SHATTER!
THe man thrusted his hand towards Lance and without even so much as touching him ripped Out Lance's entire supply of ether. A ghostlike body of Lance shot out from his body shattering into thousands of pieces in an instant.
Lance fell to the ground as his eyes rolled to the back of his head.
"NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO!" Lars cried.
"YOU BASTARD!" Reggie said confronting the man.
"I'll kill you!" B screamed.
619 still sulking in the corner didn't move a muscle.
In an instant. 3 hands shout out from inside of the hodded mans cloak each drifting a few feet from their targets.
SHATTTER!
He removed the ether bodies of the three causing them to fall just as Lance did.
"LAnce... wake up... WAKE UP!!" LArs screamed
"A futile attempt" Jonah said. "His ether stream has been completely severed. He is sensless, he is in a state worse the comatose,"
"B..." Lars said tearing up as he touched her hand. "Reggie... 6...."
"It's futil" Jonah said. "They will be dead within minutes"
As the hooded man reached the ethereal barrier, he launched the same spectrel hand he had used on Lars's friends and shattere the barrier.
BAck on the battlefiled Obrian Shine and Shereif felt an ominous presence arrive.
"What is that horrible presnece!" Shine asked.
"Whatever it is, it's ether is terrifying" Shereif said.
"No...." Obrian said. "That ether... is the most remarkable I've ever felt, it is the ether of something beyond mortality"
(Back to Lars)
"HE shattered it... just like that..." Lars said.
"Beleive Axel" The hooded man said turning around "That took a tremednous amount of ether, that is why I have waited patiently for you to retrieve this for me."
Swiping the chip, he placed it into his cloak.
"Now Jonah, we leave at once"
"What?" Jonah said. "What about the boy? I thought we were to retrieve him for Taliyah?"
The image of the woman dressed in black pulsed through Lars's mind.
"No, she had a visoin of him, until that visoin becomes true we must not tamper with him, our time to retrieve him will come."
"I see" Jonah said. "If that is your wish, master"
LArs watched as the two men walked away powerless to fight them. The shock of watchin ghis freinds get destroyed was too much for him. Cryign out, he desperately tried to get an asnwer.
"WHY!" Lars said. "Why are you doing this Why are you after me?"
"It is not I who desires you or this chip" The man answers. "But the one whom we serve... his name will soon return to rule over all Shifters.
A flashback pulsed through Lars's mind as he heard the name Apophis
(flashback)
"The light," a man said. "It is the only thing that can defeat Apophis."
"What will happen to him!" The woman asked.
"He will lose his consciousness as a Shifter, he will merge with the consciousness of others, even those of other worlds"
(back to present)
"Apophis!" LArs said. "That's who is causing all of this to happen!"
"Very good" The man in all black answered. "The next time we meet, it will be he who decides your fate. That is... If Taliyah doesn't kill you first."
In an instant the man was gone Leaving Lars alone on the floor of the Minehaft. Losing all of his strength his consciousness began to fade
"Axel!" He heard someone call.
As he passed out he saw the locks of red hair in his peripheral.
