"Anna, I know you are not the type to ask such a question for no reason. Do you mind telling me what this is all about? What exactly happened that got you doubting a long-lasting fact that everyone is aware of?" Rachel asked calmly.
Joanna snapped out of it as soon as Rachel touched her shoulder.
"Rach, I didn't mean to call your grandma a liar nor did I have any intentions of disrespecting her honour. I had a reason for asking such questions…"
"And what is this reason you talked about? Does it have something to do with our investigation?" Rachel demanded. She stared into Joanna's eyes as if the answers to her questions were written in her eyeballs.
"It's nothing," Joanna replied and turned to leave but Rachel grabbed her hand before she could walk away.
