He jumped over a desk to avoid the sight of the camera searching the area.
As the camera looked in another direction, the man jumped out of his hiding place and ran towards the exit he had failed to reach for all these years.
Vaulting over a desk and landing on an office chair, he sighed as the chair brought him to a set of doors that led to a set of stairs.
As he spun in the moving chair, he noticed how the cameras had spotted him and jumped off the chair before the surrounding walls could crush him along with it.
Kicking open the door and rushing down the flight of stairs as efficiently as he could, he exited on the last floor before the stairway could collapse and entered a long hallway.
Running down the hallway as fast as he could, he heard pipes moving and cement being crushed around him as he clicked his tongue in annoyance.
Before he could reach the door at the end of the hallway, the walls, ceiling and floor of the hallway separated and he found himself in a huge light yellow and white void filled with rooms, areas, and items all seemingly from modern offices as well as people made of scrambled shadows falling down from the infinite void around him.
Jumping onto a floating wooden conference table and continuing running he jumped and used one of the seemingly infinitely long metal pipes as a foothold as he flipped towards the open abyss while dodging the rushing pillars of stone and sharpened pipes that all aimed at his life.
Landing on a checkered floor, he ducked as a rectangular stone pillar almost crushed his skull and kept running towards the seemingly floating exit door. All the cameras had their eyes on him as he jumped from platform to platform while using the scattered and floating furniture as footholds.
Nevertheless, he could not make it through the struggle and his life ended when a sharpened small pipe flew through his leg and stopped him for a moment.
The man winced as he looked to the side only to see a rectangular stone pillar flying to crush his head into paste.
...
Kumi was brought out of the training room and out of the metal torture chamber of depression by Ayaka.
Kumi blocked the light that hit her eyes with her hand as she closed them for a moment, the bright lights of the glowing nighttime lanterns and fireflies temporarily blinding her as she slowly got used to the bright lights surrounding the building.
'So how long was I in there for? Because it feels like way too long... Honestly, could have at least let me sleep in my own bed back in my room and let me use a toilet that didn't look like it was from the beginning of the middle ages.'
Kumi complained in her mind as she lightly rubbed her eyes with her free hand and yawned very slightly.
'More tired than a man in a death loop.'
She commented to herself before looking at Ayaka who was patiently waiting for her a few metres away from the entrance of the building.
Walking closer and joining her on her walk home, Kumi looked around the road and the nature surrounding them.
'Definitely bigger than I had thought. I wonder where they keep the children, who aren't me?'
She wondered as Ayaka led her to her room through the quiet of the night.
Heading into her room, she instantly walked to her bathroom and freshened herself up.
Coming back with wet hair and a towel just 5 minutes later, she was a little surprised to see Ayaka still standing at the entrance of her room.
'Ah. Don't tell me we're actually going to go see Hilde. At this hour. Probably on a Sunday evening.'
She thought as she walked up to Ayaka who was still standing in the hallway outside of the doorframe.
'...'
"..."
'Do you want to come in? Do I need to follow you some more? What's the procedure here?'
She thought as she looked at Ayaka and then at her surroundings.
'Am I missing a hidden assassin? I mean. Wat's a-goin' on?'
Turning back to Ayaka, she stepped to the side and gestured to her out of confusion about what she was supposed to do.
Ayaka sighed as she stepped in and muttered.
"Took you long enough."
'Bruh.'
Closing the door and getting a chair for Ayaka to sit on, she sat on her bed.
'So?'
She thought and conveyed the thought through her emotionless and blank stare.
Ayaka sat down.
"You'll be using one of our old training facilities in a few days, I recommend you work on your Skills. You can go and spar a little with the regular guards at their training time tomorrow or any other day for that matter."
Ayaka then stood up and left the room while bidding goodbye.
'So. That's it? More training? And in an old facility? Weren't I just in an 'old' facility? What a scam and what a shit show. '
Kumi thought in annoyance as she went to bed.
'How do I train my new Skills anyway? Now that I think about it, why didn't Ayaka make me train my Resistances at the time too? She forgot?'
She kept thinking about training as she slowly drifted off to sleep.
Meanwhile, Ayaka moved to report everything to the boss, Hilde.
