Chapter 3 - Successful Experiments

Log 23.

The date does not matter.

We. No, I have succeeded yet again.

Let me explain.

The Royal family provides my team with specimens, females.

We use those specimens as mating tools for various races.

Our best specimen currently is an elf. Although they have low fertility, we can boost the probability of providing well-rated products with the use of drugs.

Anyway. After a few thousand experiments, we determined that the best time to insert the K-Class ...

Ah, right.

I modified the drug that I gave to the Royal family.

Instead of using that failure of a creature named Silver Summer Snake for blood, I found something much, much better.

On an expedition, my team discovered traces of a Wintry Rainbow Serpent. A Mythical Creature!

Seems that they aren't THAT useless.

Anyway, they found the nest of the creature and stole a few eggs. If they had taken all of them this empire would have fallen at that time due to the snake's rampage.

The Royal family increased their support tremendously after we gifted the fools one egg as a 'Royal Pet'.

We kept two in our lab.

After growing them into worthy specimens, we routinely took a small amount of blood.

It took me a few months but I perfected the drug.

I didn't let the Royal family know since they would most likely pull the plug on my current experiment in order for my team to fully focus on making the drug.

That's beside the point.

Where was I?

Right. The stage of drug administration.

The eleventh phase of the drug, or as I call it, the K-Class is administered in an extremely small dosage to a Pre-Stage 4 embryo that we have in stasis.

In all honesty, we have gone through thousands of tests.

It started simply with the A-Series where we used the weak Silver Summer Snake blood.

A-Series had 1 survivor out of the 999.

It would be time to say that we go through our series like this: every letter of the alphabet has a series and every series has 999 possible survivors.

After we reach 1000, we start at the next letter, that being B in this case.

Currently, we are testing the G-Series.

The second survivor ever is G-Series Subject 289. So G-289 for short.

They have high potential, that is certain, but I can not go to the Royals with just this.

They'll find it underwhelming.

One soldier can not turn the tides of a cross-continental war. A battalion, however...

...In truth, I no longer care about the war that is brewing. If it happens, I'll just go work for the winners.

But currently, I need financial support to continue my research.

On my name as Christopher Winters, I will create the perfect organism.

Who cares about the date.

My third success, H-Series Subject 780.

I feel like it takes luck and innate potential for them to actually survive the drug.

I say drug but it's honestly just concentrated poison and blood.

Bahh! Anyway.

I have tested multiple races and their combinations.

Right now, human embryos are doing the best, which is rather surprising.

They seem many times more stable than any other race.

I feel like we humans have more potential to adapt compared to other races like elves or angels who have an innate nature affinity.

Currently, A-022, G-289 and H-780 are all human.

I think we should focus more on human subjects but they are more difficult to find. We have run the slums dry of any females.

We don't take little girls of course. We aren't monsters.

Maybe after a few years when they are grown.

But I doubt the escalating probability of war will stop that idea.

I do have an observation to make.

A-022 has grown to what seems to be a 5-year-old. This growth is fast. Not just physically, but seemingly also mentally.

They have not been alive for long and have grown in our modified stasis chambers yet A-022 seems very intelligent compared to others of his age.

I am not sure if this side-effect is beneficial or not. If they have an accelerated age, they will be marked as a failure. We need subjects that overcome the human lifespan without the help of cultivation.

I heard a rumour.

...

Meanwhile, In a certain dense forest to the East.

A see-through silhouette could be seen sitting on a fallen tree next to a pond.

That pond held a beautiful flower that glowed in the dark night.

A gentle breeze passed by.
