Chapter 79 - Spread

Soon, the woman gave up on screaming and struggled to crawl out on her own. She pounded, pushed and broke all her nails just to get her lower body out, but it was useless. 

She was hopelessly stuck. So was Lucien. 

It was extremely horrible for him to bear witness to this scene. The woman is no stranger to him. She was his neighbor. She was a newlywed who moved a month before he did. And out of all the tenants, it was only her who welcomed him. 

He tried to convince his mind that this was not his real world. The system copied not only his home but also his neighbors and probably everyone he knew. Lucien steeled himself and looked at the blood moon with unblinking eyes. 

Soon, multiple ambulances bypassed in front of him. Big trucks of firefighters, police, rescuers, and other first-aid responders went in their vehicles to check the situation. Still, Lucien refused to look at these individuals.
