What did this information tell him?
In this church, a wedding was expected, but everyone died in the middle of the ceremony. Under the church's hall is a locked basement where a child was locked up for more than a year.
Lucien's finger kept tapping against the floor. He sat sprawled on the floor, with the small bed behind him.
Before Lucien's mind could wander, a sudden sound of hurried footsteps interrupted him. Lucien fell silent. He listened attentively to the source of the footsteps. He found out it came from outside the door.
The heavy footsteps took one step at a time up the stairs. When the person was near the door, they noticeably stopped, rattled the chains, and tugged on it.
"Is someone inside?"
Lucien looked up. The voice belonged to a young man, and the tone in his voice could not hide his nervousness.
"I heard a loud sound just now. I know you are in there. If you are not a ghost, answer me, what are you doing inside?"
