On a rainy morning, a young man was mopping the entrance of the company. Due to the rainy weather, dirt from the employee's footwear ruined the cleanliness of the floor. Mopping for a long time to secure the hygiene, the floor became slippery wet.
The employees keep coming in rush because there's only a couple of minutes before their work time starts. A young lady holding a canvas bag rushed inside the building. Without noticing the sign that the floor is wet, she accidentally slipped on the floor.
Fortunately, a soft but strong hand held her from the back. Her heartbeat is beating fast because of the sudden accident. After she stood on her own and saw the person who saved her, she was surprised. Why would a handsome young man ended up as a cleaner in one of the biggest company? He should have become an actor if she was him.
Looking at the young girl, the young man grinned. "Are you blind?" he told her coldly. "Didn't you see the sign that the floor is wet?"
When she heard those harsh words, her expression on this young man changed. "Excuse me, sir." She told him with a murdering eye. "Can you just say something nice? I mean I almost end up banging my head on the floor."
The man looked at her like an idiot. "I'm being nice." He complained while giving her an eye to eye argument. "It's your fault that you almost hit your head. Stop complaining, this trick won't work anymore. I don't have money for your petty tricks, now move on. I still have some work to do."
The lady sighed angrily while clenching her fist. "Petty tricks?" she repeated those two words. "Do you think I'm a scammer?"
The man looked at her while smirking. "Are you not?"
She showed her ID. "I'm an intern here." She said boastingly. "Now, you see it. How dare you accuse me?"
"An intern who is going to be fired at her first day of work?" he said with a hidden meaning.
Hearing those words, her eyes opened wide. "Gosh, I'm late." She swiped her ID at the entrance and ran towards the elevator. Now, she is doomed. Why didn't she check the time and spend the remaining minutes to have a dispute with that cleaner?
The young man just observed her while laughing inside him. 'What an idiot?' he thought. He went back mopping the floor until it's clean. Then an old bearded man came to him. "Xiao Yue, the manager wants you to clean the whole third floor."
Wang Yue Qi nodded. "I got it, Uncle Fan." He brought the mop and headed to the stairs. To be honest, he can use the elevator but he treated this as a workout than spend his money on the gym. He walk to the third floor and started cleaning until afternoon.
Before going home, he stood at the entrance because it is still raining outside. The road is quite slippery that caused a heavy traffic. He didn't bring any umbrella so the only thing he can do is to wait for a little longer until the rain stop.
Then suddenly, the young maiden from earlier also stood beside him. When he looked at that person, he was startled to saw that girl again. "Is there any chance that you like me?"
The girl smiled without looking. "Another narcissist fool." She spouted like she doesn't care. Then she decided to look at that person to see who it might be. She almost passed out like she saw a ghost. "Why it is you again?" she said in surprise.
"I think you're carrying some witchcraft." Wang Yue Qi told him. "Why I'm so unfortunate today?"
"Carrying witchcraft? Are you insane?" she complained like she is ready to kill a person. "I think you are really a misfortune. Why would you kept following me and just showed up from nowhere?"
"Are you talking to yourself?" he asked her. "I stood here first, are you really blind? Sorry, well, I'm not compassionate enough to think that you're pathetic."
"No, you're the one who is blind. You're just a merely cleaner. Can't you see that my position in this company is way higher than yours?"
He can't help but to smile. "Your position is higher than mine?" he said. "Correction, you're not a regular employee yet. You're just an intern with three months' probation."
"Still my position as an intern is way higher than yours." She firmly defended her words. "I work in the office while handling and sorting hundreds of files while you stood up and keep cleaning the company every day."
Then a girl ran towards her while clinging on her arm, it was her colleague, Sun Mei. "Zhao Shang Fei, the work is already over and my car is on the parking lot. Why not we eat hotpot?" When she looked at the man beside Zhao Shang Fei, she exclaimed. "Wang Yue Qi, why didn't I see you these days? The girls in my department are looking for you." She told him.
He looked at Sun Mei. "Sorry, I didn't know you." He told her honestly. Anyway, how would he know her if he is cleaning seriously till the whole day? Girls in her department, is he really famous? Why he didn't know that?
Zhao Shang Fei looked at him like a jerk. "Let's go, Sun Mei." She told her casually since they are both in the same age but Sun Mei is a regular employee and she work here couple of months earlier than her. Sun Mei also said that they should drop the formalities since it will be weird if she called her Ms. Sun.
Sun Mei gazed at her while trying not to leave but when she saw that the company famous cleaner is not on the mood; she can't help but to leave. Waving goodbye to Wang Yue Qi, Wang Yue Qi ignored her while sighing when the rain will stop.
Inside the car, Sun Mei kept pouting and Zhao Shang Fei noticed that so she gets all her courage to ask. "Sun Mei, did I ruin your moment just now?"
Sun Mei looked at her for a second but return her eyes on the road immediately. "Why did you ask that?"
"I notice that you really don't want to leave."
Sun Mei smiled. "No, it's not that." She told her. "Wang Yue Qi is quite famous in the company but I heard that he fell ill for couple of days last month. He is such a helpful guy so our superiors are looking for him these days but at least he went back to work this week."
"I see." She replied.
"And there's a rumor that he is quite close to the chairman." Sun Mei added after she replied.
"Close to the chairman?" Zhao Shang Fei asked.
"Yes, someone saw them speaking and smiling at each other last time but no one knows what is their relationship to each other."
