Chapter 21 - I want a Boyfriend

★★★

"Dinner is delicious. Thank you, Aunt Merry," Isabella finished her plate and praised, which brought annoyance to Bernard's face.

"You selfish lady, I made every meal for you every day. Your tone has never been so courteous and admiring towards me, but today your aunt Merry made a simple dinner. You are so overwhelmed," complained Bernard, wiping his lips before throwing the napkin on the plate.

"Jealous nerd," Merry whispered and winked at Bella, making her laugh.

"O, dad. You are my favorite all the time. Love your every dish, even my friends are crazy about your dish," Isabella said, and her adored face was hard to ignore for anyone, just as Bernard cheered up with his daughter's few loving words.

"Thank you, love," Bernard was happy and together they quickly cleaned the dinner table and dinner plates. After that, Merry chatted with them for a few minutes before wishing them good night and left. Isabella kissed her on the cheek and walk with her to her house. Until she got into her house, Isabella stood outside.

Isabella was still looking at the neighborhood, which she rarely does because she didn't have time to admire the surroundings. There are many beautiful flowering plants in her house that her father has planted and to date, she has not got time to see them.

However, standing outside now, her whole body felt relaxed, caressed by the cool air around her. Looking up, she saw the stars. A small smile formed on her lips, thinking about something.

"Mom, you're right, nothing can give you peace other than spending time with loved ones. I miss you, mom."

For a moment Isabella felt a lot of eyes watching her. She instantaneously turned around as her eyes wandered when her gaze caught a few ravens on the tree.

In the dark, those raven's eyes made Bella uncomfortable. Those are normal birds, obviously, but the feeling Isabella was getting was not something normal. Especially since the eyes of those freaking ravens gave her a chill as if they were watching her.

Isabella hurried to her house and slammed the door shut.

"Bella," as the voice asked, Bella jumped with a scream, "Aaa!"

"Hey, what happened?" Bernard asked, looking at his girl, who sighed in fear at his voice.

"I saw a couple of raven birds watching me. They are creepy," Isabella explained and came to her father. Hugging his waist, she muttered, "I miss mom."

Bernard felt inside him some strings were pulled by Isabella's word.

"I miss her too. She was a strong lady and my sweetheart," Bernard said and hugged his daughter tightly, remembering his beloved.

"Dad, why don't you marry someone else? You can marry someone now because I'm old enough to move out. If someone else comes into this house, there won't be a problem," Isabella suggested in a loving voice as she felt her father deserved happiness.

When her father came home after work, he always faced loneliness. No one was waiting for him, or comforting him when he was exhausted. Isabella was also very busy with her life and college and would lock herself in her room if she had free time.

She was thinking about this for a few days. This worried her, but she was hesitant to admit it, as it was not something you can say easily, especially when you are asking your father to marry.

"You are kidding. Marriage and me? Haha! Your father is delighted with you and you don't have to move out. I love only your mother. I fell for your mother during my college days and she helped me to become a perfect man, a perfect dad. And no one can be her," Bernard confided and kissed Bella on the head.

"What if one day I got married? Isabella asked, raising her head, looking at her father's handsome face.

"No sooner. First, get yourself a boyfriend. You didn't even date anyone in your high school. Now you're talking about your marriage," Bernard said.

"Dad, this is rude. Bye, good night," Isabella with a grumpy face had made her way to the top of the stairs, when she heard her father again, "Love you, my princess, good night."

Isabella didn't reply, which caused Bernard to laugh more. He turned off the downstairs light and went into his room.

Isabella never got teased so much by anyone. Although her friends sometimes pulled her legs, today her father went off the board.

Now she felt like she needed to make a boyfriend.

"Should I make an account on tinder? But how can I believe someone online? What if he is a killer or a psycho?" She was pacing back and forth inside her room and making plans on how to make a boyfriend when her phone rang. And it was a video call from Danny.

Joining the video call, Bella saw Bethany had also joined in that call and the first question was, how was her day with the devil? Instantly, it made her mood turn into a black pot.

"He is terrible as you two already encountered, also he is really rude towards the employers, and what can I say his proud mouth never stop praising his business," Isabella irritatingly said but didn't say she fell unconscious or they would nag her more.

"Did he ask you to do something?" Bethany asked, munching a pear while Danny sat down with a glass of wine.

"Nothing big, just he asked me to bring a file for him, which was in a cupboard in that room. But you cannot believe what I had seen," Isabella disgusted as she said.

"What, what?" two curious mouths asked in unison, bringing their faces near the camera as if close to the screen would help them hear properly.

"I saw a condom packet with that file. Yaak!" Isabella made her face a disgusting way and uttered, and where other two laughed out loud.

"Oh God, Bella. We are very sorry that you've encountered that thing, but it was common for him to have condoms. We have also," Danny said and spat her previous sip, seeing Bella's face.

"Yeah, look at him. He is gorgeous. I think any woman would stand naked for him. For that, he would have to have condoms with him or who knows how many children he would have had if he didn't have condoms," Bethany said and laughed.

"Such a dick!" Isabella said when Danny asked, "How's your shoulder? Have you brought those medicines?"

"O shit! I forgot," Isabella replied and pulled her nightdress a little to her arm to see the bruise. It was still dark blue, but the pain wasn't there.

"Oh creep! It was still a big dark bruise," Bethany commented.

"Yeah, but I don't feel any pain, though. O, I'll buy them tomorrow. Have you two completed your work?" Demanded Isabella, shifting their conversation to something serious.

"Yes, you will get it by tomorrow in college. Don't worry," Danny replied, and Bethany nodded.

"Okay, then good night, see you tomorrow," Isabella said. Her friends also wished her. As Danny was about to hang up when Isabella shouted again, "Wait, wait. I need help."

"Speak up," Bethany said.

"I.. I.." Isabella fumbled to complete a sentence.

"Are you on period? Why are you hesitating?" Danny commented.

"I want a boyfriend," Bella said and closed her eyes.

"What? Are you real?" Danny was stunned. She can't believe what she has just heard. "You are messing up with us." Bethany narrowed her eyes.

"No, and stop judging me," Isabella angrily spoke, now regretting why she mentioned this to her friend.

"Okay, I am sorry Bella. Starting tonight, your friends will take over the responsibility of giving you a fine boyfriend," Bethany said happily as if she got a lottery.

"Just tell us what kind of boyfriend you want?" Danny asked and encouraged Bella.

"I don't know. Any nice guy who doesn't want to have sex on the first day," replied Isabella softly, pondering for a long time what kind of boyfriend she needed.

"Yes, ma'am. We understood." In Bethany's words, everyone laughed.

"By the way, did you check that prescription, Bella? Danny asked mischievously, which attracted Bethany.

"Why?" Isabella asked, raising her eyebrows. She did not open the prescription given by the doctor as she did not go to the medical store.

"That Doctor we met in the morning has written his number on the prescription. Check it, I think he is perfect for your first boyfriend," Danny teased, and Bella rolled her eyes. This does not mean she was shy, she was exasperated by her two friends.

"Well, good night," Bella greeted them directly because she no longer wanted to talk about men, but how could Bethany let her go without bothering her anymore?

"Bella, let's see the paper."

"I don't know where it is? I'll get it tomorrow," said Isabella and was about to hang up the call when Bethany said again, "O, come on Bella, when you already took a step, don't be shy."

"Who is shy?" Bella responded and took her bag in front of the camera and open the compartments one by one.

First She saw her thin diary, then the round crumpled wrapper, and she grabbed it. But as soon as Danny's voice was heard on the phone, she took out the prescription.

Opening the paper, Bella saw there was no number or his name. She turned the paper to the camera and said, "You two think a lot. There is nothing except for the medicine's name."

"What? But he clearly said to me," Danny said and cleared her camera by rubbing it with her silk nightwear.

"O forget it. There is no shortage of men behind Bella," Bethany replied, yawning loudly.

"Strange," Danny was still wondering if the Doctor had a joke with her.

"Whatever! Let me sleep now. My head is hurting," said Isabella. Bethany and Danny, on the other hand, didn't ask any more questions and hung up the call.

Bella took the bag to the table and settled it in its place. Then suddenly she opened that space where the crumbled wrapper was. Thinking of throwing it in the dustbin, she took it out and was almost about to throw it, but suddenly she changed her mind.

"I am only keeping you because I want to know which store burger you are, that's it," Bella talked, looking at that crumbled wrapper and then tossing it again in her bag. She slumped on her bed as she was exhausted also she ate a lot at dinner. Within a few seconds, she dozed off.
