"What's going on?"
Jojo and the others have arrived at the training ground, staring at Laka and the old man. Emma didn't bother to reply to their question. His gaze was fixed on the old man.
Laka drew his sword and stared directly into the old man's eyes.
Whoosh!
He dashed toward the old man, going for a kill. Laka saw the old man not evading his attack. He smirked. 'How could the commander ask me to fight this clumsy old man.' He thought in disdain.
Suddenly, the smirk on his face disappeared. He gawked. 'How did he evade my attack.' He cried in his heart. 'Humph! That was just a probing attack.' As he wanted to change his attack.
His muscle tensed and all the hair on his body stood straight. His instinct was warning him while the suit sent a pulse signal where an incoming danger was coming from. He wanted to dodge the attack. But—
Bang!
Laka groaned, taking a couple of steps backward. He shook his right arm and stared at the old man. Now, his gaze was different. 'Why am I so stupid. If this old man was that easy to take down. The commander won't ask me to fight him.'
Oh!
The old man saw Laka standing and raised his brow. "That's a great defense you've got, kid."
"Enough. Let's fight." Laka was furious about being called a kid.
He attacked, swinging his sword in an arc. A faint red trail came from his sword, blending with the atmosphere. His attack was faster and more fierce. Yet, the wild smile on the old man's face never diminished.
He sidesteps the deadly attack and waves his wooden sword casually. But this time around, Laka's suit was calibrated to the old man's bizarre movement. At once, the suit sensor picked the attack and vibrated slightly.
'You may be fast. But we have the tech to counter it.' Laka snorted in his heart.
He waves his sword in midway and parried the old man's attack. Those looking at the fight widened their eyes. He's the first one to defend himself from the old man's attack. They cried in their mind.
Unknown to them, the old was the most shocked of them all. No one from the younger generation can defend themselves from his attack. This was the first. The wild smile on his face lessened, and a sharp glint appeared deep within his pupil.
The old man changed his attacking style, adding many variations to his swordplay, leaving an afterimage.
Bang!
Laka stumbled back but was still on his feet. His fighting intent was aroused. A mad smile appeared on his face. He dashed toward the old man fearlessly. Bang! Bang!
'How can you still be standing.' The old man cried in his heart.
"Commander, the old man's attack and footstep is too profound," Jojo whispered.
"Hmm, hmm" Emma nodded.
Meanwhile, he was watching the slow movement of the old man's attack and movement skill in his helmet. He was fascinated.
"Mata, you go joined the fight." He announced.
"Right now." Mata widened her eyes.
"Yeah. Do you want that idiot to lose?" He turned and looked at her.
"Not that. But I think it unfair when the fight is still going on."
"Nothing is fair on chaos. Besides, we are a team. So go."
Mata nodded and took a deep breath. She walked steadily toward the fight. Laka was barely hanging. His breath was uneven. His chest was rising and falling.
"Interesting. What sort of defense is this?" The old man murmured. 'Anyway, it's time for me to finish the fig-- hmm,' He caught sight of Mata and halt his attack.
"Are you joining the fight?" He asked calmly.
"Yeah. Anything wrong with that?" Mata withdrew her two short swords.
"The more, the merrier."
"What took you so long?" Laka grumbled. His muscle was aching. If not for the suit. He would have long been beaten into a stupor.
Mata rolled her eyes and looked at Laka for a moment before she shook her head. 'Sighed. He's beyond saving.'
"Let's end this fight, shall we?"
A confident smile appeared on Laka's face. "Let dance."
As a general of Starlight Genesis. Every soldier had well-ingrained coordination and battle tactics in their muscle memory. Though, Mata just joined the team. She had undergone the drill countless times.
Mata's speed was faster than Laka's. She appeared in front of the old man like a phantom with a deadly. With her class being an assassin. It boosted her attacking power. Normal people couldn't see the trajectory of the attack.
Yet, the old man saw the attack and the corner of his lips raised a bit. He swung his wooden sword to defend himself from her attack. Suddenly, his eyes caught sight of Laka's dangerous attack. His attack targets his weak point in his attack, making it quite impossible to defend.
'How did he know!?' The old man shouted in his mind. As a veteran fighter. The old man was only shocked for a split moment before he changed his footwalk, avoiding the deadly attack by an inch.
'Hmm. He dodged the attack.' Emma mused and whispered some words into the comms.
The fight between Laka, Mata, and the old man was tense. No one dared to breathe loudly. Everywhere was silent like a graveyard, all eyes fixed on the ongoing battle.
The leader of the alligator team looked at Laka and Mata with a conflicted gaze. 'How could this happen. We're stronger than these people.'
It was over 30 seconds into the fight, but the old man was having it difficult subduing the two. The nonchalant smile on his face had long disappeared. His face was devoid of any expression and his gaze was fixed on the battle. He had used many more techniques in the fight than he had used in decades.
On top of the Manor balcony, a middle-aged man in red regalia looked at the ongoing battle with an amusing smile on his face.
"What do you think?" he said to no one in particular.
"These people are different. Their technique is clumsy, but their reflex and defense are top-notch." A voice answered.
"Hmm, another person is going to join the battle."
"The old man is going to lose."
"Oh, Let's watch."
