Rory laughed. She was angry and yet she laughed. The prosecutor had the nerve to come here when her husband is not here and is asking her of such an atrocious thing.
Matt cleared his throat seeing her reaction. He didn't expect her to agree to him just like that, but he saw the pain in her laugh. "Mrs. Roberts, I..."
"You should have talked about this when my husband was home," Rory said and went to the kitchen to make some tea for herself.
"Picking up my teeth from the floor was not on my itinerary today," Matt smiled wryly.
"So you knew what you were asking..." she sighed.
Matt bowed his head. "We cannot let him walk away, Mrs. Roberts."
"Yeah, it's your job," Rory didn't want to be polite at all.
But she didn't want to shoot the messenger. She knew Matt is just the messenger.
"You think I can break that guy?" she asked taking her seat opposite Matt.
