There was silence at the other end for some time.
"Fizzy?" Rory called him.
"How well do you know Ian's parents, Cherry?" Liam asked. "Because I don't know a lot of people will accept the maid as their only daughter-in-law. Ian seems to be thinking that way too, I guess. Although he didn't openly state it. Status is a big issue, right, in most cases?"
"Well..." Rory thought about it. She didn't think that the Campbells would mind the status more than the happiness of their son.
But does she know them that well? They treat her well although she is a commoner. But...
"I am not sure," she sighed. "It's all so complicated!"
"Yeah," Liam nodded. He was glad that their situation was different. Her family agreed to the wedding when he had nothing. She was always rich. And she was the sole heir to a fortune. And yet his status never stood in way of their union.
"Your grandmother seems like a saint, you know," he said.
