Rory went upstairs with two slices of the cake Penny baked. It was her usual duty to pass snacks to Lennon and Sidney as no one else would. Those two didn't get down for dinner.
She knocked on Lennon's door. Lennon opened the door and Rory saw Sidney was sitting on the bed. With his pressed lips and knitted brows, Lennon looked like he was suppressing his feelings.
They are still at it?
"Hey, Rory. What is it?" Sidney asked.
The curtains were closed and in the dim light Rory could not see Sidney's expression, but she sounded nasal.
"Nothing! Just came by to... Aunt Penny baked her famous cinnamon coffee cake. I know you love it, Uncle," She passed one plate to Lennon and stepped inside the room without any hesitation.
"And for you too, Sidney. Indulge," She smiled. Sidney got the plate with a forced smile.
Rory walked to the window and flung open the curtains and opened the window. "Ah, this room gets the best evening breeze!"
