Rory was delighted at the dining table as it was filled with happy chattering. She thought others might bring up Liam's case and might hurt him, and she was a little hesitant to come home.
But no one brought up anything about the case. It probably was deliberate.
She could sense the worry in their faces at times when they looked at Liam or her. But maybe they were convinced with her brave appearance, the mood got a lot better.
Lenny and Sidney were sitting with everyone but they were avoided mostly. Usually, uncle Lenny would try to join in the conversations, but this time, he was silent. Sidney too opened her mouth to speak at times, but she shut up without saying anything.
It was weird, but Rory thought it would be better this way. Uncle Lenny doesn't have to be patient with his family. They've failed to accept him for years.
