Trevor made it through the daily evaluation. He was a bit tired, but when he found out that most of the schools is paying attention to his every move, and is also whispering about him, the exhaustion somehow vanished.
He spotted Liv in the corridor and headed straight to her. She was by the wall of lockers, picking some stuff from hers.
- See? I told you I'll be fine – he said, as he leaned with his back on the lockers, right next to her.
Only the thin door was between them. She took a step back, and peaked over it, just to confirm if the voice was really belonging to a person she thought of.
- I don't care – she just said and focused back on what she was doing.
- Are you angry? Why?
She stopped again and took another peek.
- You know why. Apologize, or we don't have anything to talk about.
- Is it about the meditation?
- No it's not. It's about you being an asshole and putting yourself in danger. You got a bit of magic in you, and somehow you think it turned you into a superhero. I was worried they would beat the shit out of you. It doesn't matter anything to you?
- I'm not gonna apologize.
She slammed the door to her locker, and closed it, then started walking.
- Then don't - she threw after a few steps but didn't stop.
That was the end of their little interaction. Trevor also pissed at her, left, and headed to the classroom where his first lesson was about to start.
He found himself in a space, surrounded by other people, who couldn't help but keep looking at him. He even heard some whispers. The class continued though, and he was forced to just endure the unwanted attention.
To his surprise, after the lesson, when he was packing up, a girl came to him holding a piece of paper in her hands. Her name was Stacy, or something along those lines, but he wasn't sure since she was one of the 'pretty' girls, that would never hang with 'Zero' like him.
She had long blonde hair and was wearing a white, short top, leaving her belly naked. Over that she had a pink vest and a short pink skirt.
- Hi – she said with a smile.
A bit confused the boy responded:
- Hi.
- I have something for you – she immediately added, bending her knees in a cute way to put the piece of paper on his desk.
It was folded in two, so he suspected there was some kind of message there. Her facial expression, and the way she fought with her smile, was hinting that she was quite excited.
- What is this? - he asked, as a smile crawled on his face.
He just couldn't help that. He also grabbed the piece of paper with a bit of hesitation, but still.
- Open it – she said, winked and him, then turned around and left.
Trevor, completely bamboozled by what just happened, finally picked up the paper, and opened it. There was an address written on it, and it was signed with Billy's and Joe's names. It all clicked immediately. After all, Stacy was a cheerleader for the 'Crash' team.
He looked up, to find her among the kids that were already leaving the class, but she was gone. He sighed heavily, unsure of what was on the piece of paper was true, and the two still wanted a showdown, or was it some kind of joke. He ended up throwing it inside his backpack, as he packed his things, and finally got out of the classroom.
He headed straight to the next one, wanting to push through the school, so he could finally go back to training at home. On his way, he noticed Billy and Joe. It looked like they were waiting for him, and as soon as they spotted him, they went on the move.
Trevor was not going to back down, even if they wanted a confrontation in the middle of the corridor, but to his surprise, they spread a bit, making a space between them as they walked. As soon as they were within a speaking distance Billy asked:
- Did you get the address?
- Yeah – Travor responded.
- Be there after school, so we can finish this.
They never stopped walking throughout this short conversation and passed by him on his, with each on both his sides. Then, later, vanished among other kids somewhere behind him. He even turned around to watch them.
With the confirmation, Trevor took the backpack down, and rummaged through it in the middle of the corridor, to find the piece of paper with the address. It took him a moment, but he finally pulled it out and looked at it again, then shoved it in his pocket, closed the backpack, and threw it over his shoulder to continue his march to the next classroom.
During all of this time, almost everybody around him watched his moves closely, like he was an important figure, worthy of all this attention.
To his knowledge, the street he was supposed to go to find the building, was somewhere in the vicinity of the wall on the border with the fifth district, so the property was probably abandoned. A good location to finish this, since nobody would interrupt them.
That was not the only surprise for him since on his way he spotted Liv, waiting clearly for him, right next to where his next lesson was supposed to happen.
- Don't go – she said.
- Don't go? - he asked surprised. - So you know?
- Half of the fucking school knows. Don't go.
- I have to.
- Can you please, listen to me for once? Don't go. You will get hurt. It's not worth it.
Seeing her face made him hesitate, but then the anger kicked in.
„You are just gonna let them walk all over you? They need to get punished. Somebody has to do something, and that somebody is you. You will demolish them, and they very well deserve that."
- I have to go – he said with confidence and resolve.
She snorted, and walked away, knocking him with her shoulder on the way.
- Whatever. Get beaten up if you want it so badly.
Trevor then entered the classroom without looking back. He just simply couldn't do that. He knew very well that she was worried, but the fight was something he simply needed to do. He needed the well-deserved revenge and the respect of others that kept looking down on him.
The rest of the school was still boring, and he kept counting every minute until it finally ended. Some kids still had their classes, so he was uncertain if Billy and Joe would be there on time, or how big of an audience would come along since so many people already knew what was going on. Maybe he would have to wait for them, but he didn't really mind.
He was focused and ready, so with peace of mind, he started his little journey to find the location it all was supposed to end.
