Koan slapped down the piece of paper on the table and Nancy hurriedly grabbed it off the surface to stare at the contents.
"Her address was fake."
"They gave Dad a wrong address?" Nancy asked.
"No. Apparently, this was the address she gave them. No questions asked, they let her bail your mum out, and now we've just discovered that the address she gave them doesn't even exist."
There was a sick dread which ran up her spine on hearing his words.
"So what are you saying? We don't know where Angela is? She could lurking around us, you know? Waiting for the right time to strike and she's definitely coming for me."
Koan grabbed her by the shoulders and steadied her so she could stop panicking and look him in the eyes.
"I'm here for you baby... nothing will go wrong and no one will hurt you, do you understand?"
She nodded shakily.
