"What?" She asked, blinking her eyes.
'The man you bumped into… the man you dream of every night, it's… Gu Chen.' The voice points out, Yi Hua widens her eyes in shock, no words coming out of her lips as she dazes out.
"This is… absurd! Nonsense!!" Yi Hua exclaims in disbelief, shaking her head as she clutches the duvet against her head and shuts her eyes closed as tears flow down her cheeks wetting the sheets in the process.
'Hua, please. I…listen to me. I know what I am saying seems absurd but it's true.' The voice echoed inside her head, she continuously shakes her head no, 'God, you are not helping! Why did you make me so stubborn?!'
The shout of the voice echoes inside her head making her stop, she opens her eyes, "What do you mean by that?" Yi Hua questions, still and observant of her surroundings and movements.
'Just…look at me and see for yourself. See if I am lying to you or not.' The voice speaks, Yi Hua scowls, "No, you are luring me into your trap, I won't!" Yi Hua roars, staying determined on her said words.
'Hua…I am annoyed now!'
Yi Hua shivers, "God…God…help me." Yi Hua chants, staying covered.
'Yang Yang…' Yi Hua frowns at that name, still stubborn she remains unaffected by the things going on around her.
"AHHHHH!" Yi Hua screams, jolting up on the bed she wiggles around trying to escape that weird touch, "Meow~" She heard, and freezes, the duvet was now on the floor while she stayed on the bed with her hands covering her face.
The soft meowl of the cat had her think, "Kitty…it's not safe here. Go away!"
"Meow~" She heard it again, now she felt the cat sitting in her lap, she gulped before she slowly spread her fingers and watched around making sure it's safe, "Ah, finally. I am safe, thank you, kitty."
With that being said, she grabs the cat by its back and raises it high up so that her teary eyes meet the cat's big eyes, "I am scared…kitty. Can you also hear her?" She asks, slightly looking around, she then looks back at the cat.
"I do." The cat mumbles, Yi Hua widens her eyes and drops the cat down on the bed, squatting away in fear, "You…c-can talk?!" She exclaims in surprise, cupping her face in her palms as she closes his eyes shut.
"Please…d-don't hurt me." She says, pulling her knees to her chest, "Hua…look at me." The cat speaks, Yi Hua shakes her head no, breathing heavily as tears gush out of her eyes.
"I am Yang Yang…" He utters, slowly walking closer to her trembling body and rubbing itself over her body, Yi Hua screeches and pulls herself back but his continuous rubbing of its soft fur against her with a subtle lick in between had her slowly open her eyes.
She shudders, sniffing and watching the cat, slowly she notices a baby figure above the cat, a translucent yet rigid figure smiling at her with a small wave, "What…a-are you?" She questions, gulping down the lump.
"I am Yang Yang, your spirit guide." He explains, grinning cutely and waving his hands again.
Yi Hua blinks her eyes, "My…what?"
"Spirit guide." Yang Yang replies, she notices the cat going limp against her leg and she snaps her head up in shock, "What happened to the cat?!"
"Oh, I just escaped out of the materialistic body…God let me use its body." Yang Yang says, pointing out to the limp body of the cat, "But…you are just a kid." Yi Hua says, hesitantly.
She looks away hoping she didn't offend the little guy, "Yeah, I do look like a kid but I have lived for a thousand years. We never age nor we die." Yang Yang replies, smirking at her while Yi Hua widens her eyes, surprised by that revelation.
"So…what do you want from me?" Yi Hua asks about the thing that was eating her to the core.
"It's time you know everything, Hua. You seem to be scared of seeing yourself so let me help you understand things." Yang Yang says, making a circle around the room before standing before her.
"Understand what?" She questions, scared.
"Your past and your life. The dreams you keep seeing all your life, the person who haunts you in your dreams, like a nightmare." Yang Yang answers, tilting his head and flashing a small smile, "How…do you know about my dreams?"
"I know because you went through that, those are not just the dreams but the memories of your past." Yang Yang says, floating before her eyes, Yi Hua widens her eyes and gulps, "What? Can you not make fun of me…?" Yi Hua asks, growing angrier.
"I am not, if you don't believe me…you want to see that happen?" Yang Yang questions, tilting his head and looking at her innocently, Yi Hua blinks her eyes, resisting herself from pinching those chubby cute cheeks.
"See…? How?" She murmurs, slowly feeling comfortable in his presence.
"Just trust me…grab my hands." Yang Yang mumbles, extending his translucent hand, "Will I be able to hold your hand?" Yi Hua asks, chuckling as she eyes his small hands which seemed so unreal, "Oh, wait. Let me get back to that thing."
Yang Yang points to the cat and gets absorbed inside the kitten, the cat slowly stands straight making her shocked, the thing which had no life and essence was now, like a normal cat. If only she hadn't seen the little guy, she would still think of it as a kitty.
"Uh…y-yeah." She answers, chuckling awkwardly, "Will you be fine with me talking to you in this form?" Yang Yang asks, slowly sitting on her lap, "I guess…yes?" She mutters, hesitantly.
"What are you gonna do?" She asks, getting off the bed and standing on her feet, "We will just go and visit you in your past and see the things you want." Yang Yang says, simply as if it is very easy for Yi Hua to do as if it is nothing.
"And how?" She questions, confronting the cat's eyes.
"Oh, right. I can just take you there for a brief moment, God gave you the power to stay longer in your past if you want to accomplish your goal." Yang Yang says, swinging its tail back and forth, "Oh…um." She mumbles, looking confused and conflicted.
"Hua, it might affect your condition like you fainted last time. So, I am taking you straight to the time when the incident happened." Yang Yang says, receiving a hesitant nod from Yi Hua.
"Okay, I am ready." She mumbles, holding Yang yang tight in her arms, just then she felt the air swirling around her faster and more noticeable, she closes her eyes shut, feeling the change of air motion, scared, she clings onto Yang Yang and she yelps as she felt herself lightweight, flying in the air.
"AHH!!" She cries out, scared and terrified.
"Hua, open your eyes." Yang Yang mumbles, snuggling against her arms and nudging her, "Can…I?" She asks, her voice trembling in fear.
"Uh-hm." He replies, meowling in agreement.
Yi Hua slowly peeks with her left eye, soon both her eyes open wide, surprised as she takes in the surrounding,
"Where…a-am I?" This was the only thing that left her mouth.
