Raven stood up and the buzzing sound intensified. Long yellow insect legs crept out from under her large dress. Clark thought that she had somehow morphed in to an insect type beast. But when the system analyzed the beast before him he was even more surprised.
"Golden honey bee queen- ultra rare
The golden honey bee queen is an extremely rare but weak beast. It can control many offspring to gather food, defeat enemies, and take over territory. However, it is very weak to physical and spiritual attacks. The best way to defeat it is to attack it before it calls upon its offspring. While it controls its offspring it is able to increase their speed and attack ability. Do not anger this beast.'
The system was clear. Clark was looking at an incredible danger. Not only could this beast defeat many by not moving, but it could create more beasts. In essence, this was a general with its own army. "Amazing." Clark had never heard of such a beast. The golden honey bee queen was in a league of its own.
"Yes, my queen is very beautiful. Now watch how an adult handles those that break their rules." The entire auction hall became silent as hundreds of small golden honey bee drones took over the air. They were swarming around the faceless worm egg causing Raven's grand daughter to step back. She knew what this kind of action meant.
"I have few rules while people are here in my auction house. No fighting. No theft. And certainly, no lying to my appraisers about the origins of what you wish to sell. This item here has been exchanged for a false piece of trash. The previous egg I personally appraised has been swapped for a ruined faceless worm egg."
Shocked gasps filled the hall while many cowered before the growing swarm of golden drones. Clark could see the shape of stingers coated with a slightly purple poison. This was the deadly poison that the drones used to take down large and small beasts alike. "You will be punished!" Raven's voice boomed through the hall.
"My young master told me I had to do it. Spare me!" The terrified voice came from an oily haired man trying to rush out the door. But the drones were already there. Raven knew well wh this was and who he served. Therefore, she did not have mercy.
Frantic screams filled the auction hall while the drones dealt with the culprit. After a few moments the silence returned and guards came to move the body. The drones were careful not to touch the man's possessions and only deal with his life.
Just as the body was taken away, Raven gave a pat to the head of the golden honey bee queen. The drones reacted and lifted the man's spatial ring toward her. "Now this is my secret. I can access anyone who breaks my rules spatial ring. It is a unique privilege of the old and wise." Raven winked as she pulled out a pristine beast egg.
"The auction will continue as it should have. Please bid on the proper egg!" This entire event had impressed and inspired Clark. He had not imagined that people could easily access someone else's spatial ring after their death. Then on top of this, he had witnessed a unique beast that could do so much. It would influence his batte styles and studies for some time.
"And now you seem to have funds to bid on something. I believe you will want something." Clark took the gold coins pulled from the ring. He didn't even need to say a world before Madam Raven spoke up again, "For passing my little tests and earning my respect. Not many have sharp enough eyes to catch false beast eggs." Raven was ensuring herself that in the future she would personally keep such rare eggs hidden in their vault before the auction.
For a few moments, Clark was stuck looking at the impressive body of the golden honey bee queen. It was very clear that it had been fed the best materials to grow as strong as it could. There was almost a shine to her tough shell separating her from any other beast of the same species.
"The next item we have is a special one. It was found in the ruins past the deep forest!" This announcement brought Clark back to reality. He looked down at the shards of large bone being brought out.
'Ancient dragon wing bones- ultra rare
These are fragments of an ancient dragons' wing bones. They have been weathered causing extreme degradation. They were previously mythical level due to the incredibly dense dragon essence within them. But now they are simply ultra rare and still degrading. They still hold dragon essence of an ancient dragon even though it is nowhere near the level of what it had been.'
"The bit will start off with nine silvers. We hope that someone has an acute eye to study this mysterious item!" The room was full of mumbling because it was a rather unique item. But Clark already had a hand raised.
"Oh, you like that? It is an odd item brought by a merchant that said they had found it near a large ruin. Apparently, there are many like it there but it's very hard to leave with them. Something about curses. They could exist but these bones made it here." Raven wanted to coax out information about them from Clark since he recognized them.
"One gold seven silvers!"
An elderly man called out his bid from the main floor. "That man is a collector. He may push the price high and you only have twenty three gold there. Bid wisely." Raven enjoyed the show as Clark raised his hand and pushed the bid to two whole gold coins.
"I will get this. And when I have it I will tell you what I know." Clark used this to his benefit. If Madam Raven were to help him then he would be sure to win.
"Now that is a good choice. You will win this then." She waved a hand and the man sat down. He understood what the signal meant. Everyone that attended the Raven family auction house knew that they could procure a discount by bending a little when the head of the family was helping someone procure an item for auction.
"Sold for two gold coins! Congratulations on your new mystery to study!" An attendant stored the bone shards away carrying them as fast as possible upstairs to Clark. When he arrived Clark held his spatial ring out for them to be transferred to him. He handed over the two gold and turned toward Raven.
"These are from a dragon's wings. They are degraded but useful for something I am working on." Raven widened her eyes in surprise.
"I will need to send a group there some time soon then. Dragon materials are very rare. Many people would fight for them. Make me a promise and keep this a secret. If you do, I will refund you a gold coin." The offer was good and Clark didn't want others to know as well. With a single nod, he earned back a gold coin. Clark now had more money than he ever had before.
"I can tell the auction is reaching the end. I will take my leave. Thank you very much for your hospitality." Clark took his chance to leave while Madame Raven waved a hand. She saw a potential ally in the future. One that would bring a great amount of wealth to her auction house. But even more than that, one that would bring her interesting stories to tell. It had been some years since she felt this way about someone.
