Osamu Dazai attempted five times to kill himself before he was successful. It is said that he was influenced by his idol, Ryunosuke Akutagawa. He was with his lover, on a Shinju double suicide, and drowned by the Tamagawa Aqueduct.
For me, it took one attempt.
I wasn't influenced by any figures nor had any lover or close friend who would take their lives along with me. Of course, I would be damned to ask them. Also, I didn't tell anyone my situation nor acted like I was suffering: if someone had discerning eyes to see my emotion mangled from the inside─I know one. I can only suppose though that he, the Strongest Mage, fell one step short into stopping the unforgivable sin I committed.
