Levels meant a lot.
But it wasn't just HP and MP. The stats also mattered. And just leveling alone didn't mean you're guaranteed to have a better stat.
That's why distributary stat points came in handy.

Apparently, luck was one of the best stats to invest if you wanted to stay alive.
"You done?" I yelled.
Backing up a little-
"Huh? Are you mocking me?" Xerphantalous chuckled, stepping back. Starting his chant.
Unfortunately-
No, I wasn't even talking to him.
"Not yet-" I got the reply-
And then Xerpahntalous' face slightly twitched. "I see-" With a snort- he threw a ball of light at me- "Astral Divination!"
"Curse-" I threw a black ball in return-
Clash!
