Chapter 39 - Oops

It had a skull for a head.

Decaying, maggot-filled meat- on that bony face.

Barely floating- it did have a body but I wasn't sure if it was a spirit or just a high-class walking corpse. Either way- it was decaying and that glare meant death.

Now that it was pissed- the smell just got worse and it was almost like that thing was draining all the light from the stars-

So far, not the best start, given it was still kicking. "You cried out in pain- didn't you-" I pointed my sword. "Look, we can totally avoid this-"

"Ghharrra!"

More undead formed.

I see- so this was-

Why couldn't it just be an understanding spirit?

Why not?

Why did life have to be so damn hard!?

"He does look the size of a kid but how the hell did they come to the conclusion that this thing was anything close to-" Sigh- yeah, we found our little kid problem. The blue spirit wasn't the quest target- this one was.

Anyway- now wasn't the time to be thinking.

We had to run.
