We started going down.
Slowly-
Some crevices on the ground- large holes and-
"Down there?"
"Yes."
She dropped me but stayed afloat herself.
And though I was dropped from maybe two- three floors high- didn't mean much.
My wounds did sting slightly though.
But-
I took out my sword-
Just the sword.
So far, nothing.
"Are you sure?" I said-
"Wait for it. They can sense warmth-" She didn't even need to finish.
Slight tremors-
And then-
Rumble-
Something- or some things sprouted up from the ground-
Oh boy-
Not one-
Not two-
Eight-
Snakes.
All eight-
Black-
