The pressure was high as everyone waited for anything to happen, but as time went on, it seemed like the only way to activate the nest was to touch the core.
"Akira, please walk up to the core and see if that triggers them to come out." Reia knew there had to be some form of a trigger, so their only bet was getting closer to the middle.
Akira nodded and began to slowly walk towards the core while everyone else kept an eye out. It was clear as Akira walked closer, the mutants that were hiding were getting agitated and the ground around him was moving.
Now being a few meters away from the core, Akira was tempted to reach out and absorb the power then and there.
