Ideas began forming in Elias' head as he was already understanding what the fast solidification of the spoon indicated. But knowing that if he raises his hopes high, he will feel devastated when it all fails, so he just stared at it passively!
As he waited for it to cool down, he searched through the Sand looking for more Casting Wood. Sadly he didn't find any.
He came back and took the 10cm chunk half and with the use of a Scraper, he made a mould of a round Bar on the inner soft flesh and poured the melted Zinc Metal.
And then he checked the cooled spoon!
It was amazing, the mould was perfect and the spoon was smooth with no need of polishing. The only part that seemed a little coarse was the back side of the spoon which was the external side.
"This is amazing!" Elias called upon the Wand and asked for improvement, but the reply made him smile.
The only options were Sharpening and Increasing its Density by reducing its size. In other words, he doesn't need to improve as there was no option for other improvements!
With renewed conviction, he took the other 10cm that he didn't cut in half and made use of Scraper and snipped a round mould of 7cm wide, 5cm long ingots.
With a smile, Elias looked at the 120cm untouched Casting Wood and cut it into two, each 60cm long.
Then he took one of them, which he code CW1 meaning Casting Wood 1, and cut it vertically into two halves.
Using Scraper, he cut and snipped the shape of a 54cm long knife.
He carefully trimmed one edge which was the chosen Sharp edge after the Metal was poured into it. Another thing was the handle, he scraped it separately from the head so that a less dense and less heavy Metal can be poured into to be the handle!
A 54cm long knife completely made of heavy steel will not be light, but if the handle was light, then the weight will be reduced.
Elias puffed as he felt a headache—with no eyes to see, he used the Omni-view.
But using that forced him to zoom, concentrate and focus on what he was doing which was hard. Not only that, only through tasking himself will he see colours and small depression of what he was doing.
That didn't deter him though, even after turning off the view, he still used his hand to feel the mould and fix the part that seemed not on the right curl.
Elias took it split and ran his hand to feel it adequately and then he placed it over the shaped mould. It will be the lid.
What he had understood from the spoon was that the part touching the soft flesh became smooth and reflective like a mirror. While the part that wasn't was a bit rough—still better than his primitive way!
With a lid, both sides of the knife will be touching the soft flesh and both surfaces will all be smooth as if formed from a factory.
But before he makes the 54cm long knife he needs to have enough Ingots. He would be an ungrateful idiot if he used the normal smelted Ore.
Elias for the whole day melts all the Metal he has and turned them into ingots by using the two 10cm moulds he made using Casting Wood. And he further learned something, Casting Wood reduced impurities from the Metals too, despite the Metals being first treated using Wure liquid!
The Metals became smaller and denser and they do not need improvement from the Wand except for the shape which was not needed.
As blind, Elias felt the round ingots with his hand, and that made him smile with satisfaction when he felt their smoothness and cold—the only imperfection was the top which was open during the Casting.
Elias thought about cutting the Casting Wood ingot mould into two and making one side a lid. But he stopped himself.
As he held the ingot, Elias couldn't feel the difference between the one made in the industry back on earth.
Surrounded by his hundred small ingots, Elias fell asleep in the Sand with a joyful smile.
A minute after sleep, the Sand glided Elias into the ground. Until he was swallowed up and began to suffocate, he then woke up with a fright… but he stayed still as his heart beat faster.
Above his Island was a massive bird, bigger than the one that attacked him, gazing through the transparent Force-field Dome. One of its talons was touching the Dome and each of its 1500cm wings was spread out supporting it from weighing down
Through the talon, Elias was able to perceive the bird and estimated its size—as the talon was longer than his arm.
It was a Magnificent Crane!
He gulped down and stayed down even though he was suffocating. But ever so slightly, he was sinking deeper into the Sand.
With a thought he allowed the Fog to seep slowly out from the Sand and shift to cover the base of the Island edge and then shifted slowly upward!
Both he and the Island's actions made it look like a natural movement of things.
As for the Magnificent Crane, its eyes were fixated on something else. It had an infrared vision and thus, it can see Elisa's beating heart and the warmth of his body—though he was gradually disappearing from its vision it wasn't bothered by that
With a tap, the Force-field Dome broke and it leaned on the Island it was bigger than, and stretched its long graceful neck, using its beak and scooped some Sand and the debris from the Outer Sand explosion and gently flapped its wings up without causing a hurricane! Disappearing in the night.
Elias then was ejected from the Sand, huffing!
He raised his head to the starry sky with trepidation before he activated the Force-field Dome again, then he spread the Fog and covered the whole Dome.
Hopefully, that will obscure their view which may make them disinterested in the Island.
Unbeknownst to him, there was another bird invisible to the eye watching him. And seeing that the Magnificent Crane has taken what it came for, it flew fast, destroying the Dome too, furiously!
And that made Elias's head ring for the whole night while also not being able to raise another Dome!
