Chapter 27 - Chain Chest Care

The listless eyes of Elias begin to regain their lustre. He blinked and his passive breathing became voluntary. His silent brain activated, processing the external stimuli.

He was in a sitting position as if it was now he just sat down. His hands were cuffed together and his elbows were on his knees.

When his brain processed everything, he was full of confusion as everything felt like a second ago. However, with no strength to move his body, the reality of the situation tells him it was much more complicated than that.

As the wind blew, his body tumbled away from the White Chest and his bag of bones collapsed with no strength whatsoever.

Extreme fatigue, hunger and weakness enveloped his mind and he became unable to think anything concrete. Thankfully a chain wrapped around his body and pulled him toward the grass and dropped him at the edges of the pond.

Half his body was in the water while the other half was outside. As he was breathing with both his nose and dried mouth, the chains formed a scythe, cut some grasses and diced them before putting them in his mouth.

Then he was drowned which forced the drinking water to push the diced grass down. That happened a couple of times till he began to vomit out his stomach content.

Halfway through the water, the cold permeated his body and that jolted his brain awake as his stomach tried to digest the food for the first time in a very long time.

Just beyond the White Chest, the island wrote. Which he failed to see due to his condition.

~Congratulations, you have exhausted your Reverse Luck by surviving the Chest of Infinity!~

Elias sleeps and wakes up in that position and his trusty Chain Chest feeds him and waters him for days before Elias was able to lift his head.

And through willpower he sat, it was then that he recognised the words that have been blurry in his eyes ever since his mind came back from the White Chest.

[Congratulations!]

[Your Island has Grade Up]

[Trial One Completed]

[Retake your island, and move up to Second Trial]

….

Elias stared at the notification with confusion. Then he called on the island status.

[Islander's Island]

~Islander: Prime Crocodile and Elias Gobarau

~Island: Grade 1, level 0.

~Type: Baby Isle (Growing)

~Size: 50 Diameter

~Number of merged Island: 10

~Resource: Medium rock, small rock, sand, wood, small trees, Abinci grasses, small streams!

[Note! Take great care of this Island. It's in the growing stage]

"50?!" Elias stared before he tried his best to stand with difficulty. The island is wide and spacious. Grasses and small trees are abundant. There were also larger rocks all around.

Elias felt as if he was at the centre of a jungle. When he listened he heard the crisp sound of a water stream.

Admiring the Island, Elias froze and then checked the status again. Prime crocodile is his rival.

Looking down just in time he saw the sand.

"I see!" Elias nodded in understanding. But he was in no position to do anything now. As the little movement he did has tired him out.

He sat before he tried to crawl his meatless ass to his previous burrow but sadly, he couldn't. Turning around he looked at his Chain Chest that sprang out its thin spikes on fragile chains. It's like hanging out its tongues.

Shit, Elias quickly grabbed his wand that he kept between his hand leather band. That way it was always on his body and notification was directly sent to his head.

He called upon the wand shop and bought the corrosive liquid with the remaining 8 points he had. And then he selected a rock to place it.

It was a relatively large rock but the moment the liquid dropped on it, it melted completely. And the smell that wafted immediately began to corrode the air and made the grass change colour from vibrant green to dirty green. Eventually, some begin to rot.

Thankfully the wind was strong and in just a couple of minutes, everything ceased.

Elias looked at his chest and he realized that it was barely living through the corrosion of the Cursed flesh. And he can swear that he heard the laughter of the thing from the liquid that melted the rock.

He sighed and decided that it was no use waiting. He might need to move to the next trial and if his assumption was correct then he will have a chance to narrate what had happened and record it in his wand. That might give him more points.

But then he stopped, he didn't know anything about the next trial. With his skinny weak body now he might be throwing himself into a hoard of monsters to feed.

And if he wants to obtain more points, he really needs to remember everything. As of now, he was in shock, and he was having a nightmare about his past life. All that is hindering him from thinking correctly.

"My beloved friend. Give me more time please!" Elias was about to touch it, a chain moved and stopped his hand. When he looked closely he saw that the Chest was releasing a slime substance. And Beneath the Chest, the sand was corroded.

Elias' heart felt heavy!!!

What is inside the chest? He wondered.

But he refused to be swayed by the grim factor of the Chest and whatever the thing inside due that Cursed Flesh. He turned around with a will to recover fast and also attained the best possible preparation for the next trial.

He crawled his skinny ass around the Abinci grass and identified the best ones and fed on them. Then he began to meditate.

Elias knew he had spent months sitting on that Cursed White Chest. If not, how come a Sumo Obese man like him becomes so skinny to the point of him having no muscle but bones and skin.

How will that be?

He didn't check the wand to confirm, nor did he care but the only thing he focused on in his mind was fast recovery.
