To confirm if the Island is still his, Elias made a mental input to drive the Island. And he felt no resistance whatsoever. He sighed and his mind calmed down.
Elias achieved peace of mind and started to sleep. And when he woke up it was around midnight 11:46 PM. It's just a few minutes before the next day. He stood and commenced to dig the sand.
After that, he buried himself inside with only his head out, and also he placed the Chain Chest beside him hoping that it may wake up to protect him again.
The Chest has been silent, only making some small movement if need be. Like when it nudged him to wake him up when the Mutated Bear was hunting him. However, after that, the Chest was silent again.
He knew that it was because of the Cursed Flesh that was inside, maybe its liquid was hindering its normal jumpy reaction and the Chest had to fight it within.
Elias did not know how he can aid the Chest but he has an idea, maybe if he can remove all the corrosive liquid from time to time, it may be able to come back to normal. Sadly, he was occupied with the
Mysterious Ram and doesn't want to do anything that may look like he was opposing it.
After the preparation for the next Daily Mission. He was now only hoping to use the Ram to Conquer the Island.
By noon, the Fog saturated as usual, and from four different directions. North, South, East, West, silhouettes of beasts became visible. Not only that it looked like they wanted to pounce forward, nonetheless they couldn't as something was hindering them.
Elias observed from the north was a massive beast the size of the Mutated Bear. To the south, it looks like a Mutated Hyena. As for east, there might be nothing on. West was a small beast.
Elias has been through many dangers to believe that one of the beasts is weak and he can fight it. What he did confirm over 7 days was, anything he comes across is dangerous, regardless of whether he bought luck or not.
The only difference is that with luck, he was able to find a way to escape the predicaments. However, even that is not guaranteed. When he use luck, he met the Ram, if by chance he was stupid enough to try killing it for its meat, he may have become manure by now.
After he observed the four silhouettes for some time, he gently made a mental cue for the Island to move toward the beasts that looked like the Hyena.
The Island refused to budge!
Elias was surprised, he tried again to move the Island, yet it did not move. Since he buried his head, he peeked out to see what was happening. His eyes met the eyes of the Ram.
Elias was busted. He wished to hide while the Mutated Beast came into the Island. At the same time, the Ram will be forced to kill it. And voila! Elias passes the Daily mission. But the Ram is too intelligent to be fooled so easily.
Elias began to wonder how these Beasts came to be?
Are they from his world too?
Are they too undergoing their trial to achieve something or what?
Though, he learned that one of the prerequisites of becoming of Islander is to be a Sentient Being. Yet, all the beasts he comes across are called Islanders. Are they sentient?
It was then he realised that he might have got it backwards. Sentient means those that are able to feel through senses. In a broader explanation, Sentients are those life forms that can sense, be self-aware of their environment and even form some intelligent thoughts.
If that was the case, then all animals can fit into that category, as they are capable of perceiving their environment and also seem aware of pain, danger and other stimuli. Some unique animals can even show some level of intellect like humans.
But, still, one needs a Name to be an Islander. Did animals get a name upon birth or what?
Or was it true of what he heard from a certain Sage during a mission? The sage said all things whether humans or animals, come with their name upon birth.
Elias is not interested in mythological thoughts or any that was beyond the realm of physicality at the time. So he regarded it as some sort of philosophy or something.
"Hoo!" He sighed.
Elias recognizes that it will not go according to his plans. He came out of the sand and grabbed his Wand. With it, he can choose a beast that landed on his Island and make the Corrosive Liquid land on the Mutated Beast.
But, suddenly he saw something that has never happened before. One of the beasts just barged in through the fog and attacked his Island.
He was terrified as he wondered wasn't he supposed to be the one to choose a direction, or was everything changing? Before Elias can think of anything the beast was already on his Island.
The speed was faster than his eye can see or comprehend.
He quickly selects the beast's head as a place to drop the liquid, but Elias feels a strong blow of wind that toppled him and threatens to throw him off the Island. He has to grab one big boulder the size of him to orient himself.
The Island was toppled from the side, almost flipping, then it returned to normal. Again, it toppled, the water tide in, threatening to drown the Island, but by some mysterious mechanic, it did not.
Bang!
An explosion akin to a grenade blasted around the Island. The shock wave cracked the rock and also busted Elias' eardrum. Then come the subsequent clashes each with powerful shock waves that rattle Elias's bones.
Elias began to bleed from his orifice. Thankfully, Rapid Healing Trait kicks in and that heals him against subsequent shock waves. Yet when he oriented himself, he realized that the fight was off the Island and now on top of the water.
With each clash, a pillar of foggy water would rise and his Island was pushed away from the impact!
One thing he concluded is that the Ram is clashing with the Mutated Wolf!
And Elias was now truly terrified with realization; there is no way in hell for him to survive an encounter with that thing!
