Key's hands were moving while her eyes remained on the Hydra, apart from the occasional blinking, viewers could swear her eyes were not moving at all but she kept on dealing damage to her opponents in the large-scale fight along with her in-game teammates accurately.
[Bomb1t: Your eyes didn't even move!]
[DrillTricks: You gotta be cheating!]
[Ellover: Ha! You've got some nerves to cheat on stream!]
[BrightTerry: Such a cheater!]
[DrivenRaven: Now that's something you can't easily do.]
[Opalcutie: Who are you fooling you bitch!!!]
These series of comments resulted from the sudden kill-steal that Key did in the Hydra's Lair in the middle of the large-scale team fight.
She was at the bottom of the Lair but she managed to use Evocatrice's Fero to stun the opposing shinigami that is dealing damage on the Hydra before stealing the monster from them and killing the stunned shinigami.
"What happened, Key?" Dewy and Bright immediately approached her after noticing the strings of curses Key is receiving in her stream on the screen
This took the attention of the other playing members and they removed their headphones to know the current situation. She indeed left quite the mark on them.
"What's going on?" Quant asked and looked at the for a bit before returning his gaze to the computer screen because he was almost ambushed by several opponents
"They say my eyes aren't moving," Key replied but there was not a single movement from her eyes even as she spoke, and if she wasn't blinking some would think she was a robot
"Are you in a tight spot?" Rasheed asked after hearing her answer
"You can say that," Key replied and El chuckled after hearing her reply
"Try watching our matches where she's contained, you'll see that her eyes don't move as well," El spoke, but his eyes are on his computer screen
Rasheed and El knew that because El is seated next to Key in their gaming base and the gaming arena while Rasheed took notice of that after glancing at Kashmiri whenever she was contained or was having difficulties.
"Wow, and I didn't even notice that," Alexei commented in amusement before glancing in their direction
"You're seated across Key in our gaming base, that's why," Rio replied
"They don't generally show the players in live streams as well," Bright added and they returned to being seated on the couch
Dewy decided to take note of El and Rasheed's observations, he feels like he needed to keep in mind everything that is pointed out by the fans and anti-fans, as well as those that Key's teammates observed.
Although Key already said she knew the value of teammates and probably won't do what she did with DR again, he felt that it was better to be prepared to answer in any trouble or conflict they might face.
[RuggedMan: You brainless anti-fans really like blabbering nonsense.]
[Pl4yw1thme: Yeah! Unless you know what it's like to play games expertly you should just shut up.]
[Game4Lyfe: Those two upstairs don't waste your energy.]
"It's what happens when I put my attention on something, please don't argue," Key said and smiled sweetly, her tone and volume of voice changed to that similar to coaxing children
If any Troublemaker heard this, they would think that they were in real trouble in front of their Primogenitrice-mere and they would start retracing their steps.
Lucky for them, none of them were present in Key's live stream at this moment to hear her use this tone.
She had left a deep impression on those Troublemakers that the adults and even the already retiring age former Troublemakers still tremble in submission when she uses this tone.
She continued playing and proceeded with going on another ranking to raise her rank after her game.
The viewers of her stream felt like watching her play is like watching an expert-level game bot as her movements were repetitive but they're hard to avoid as if they were deliberately made to move in a pattern to lure challengers in.
They're not entirely wrong, however, Key isn't luring any of her current in-game opponents, she's trying to lure someone else who she knew is watching her stream that very day.
"Hmm, just in time," Key commented as her phone lit up and a series of numbers appeared on her screen
"Excuse me for a bit," Key said and rapidly dealt damage on the base tower to end the game
She had been stalling time during the last ranking, waiting for the person she was luring in to call her so as soon as she received the call, she ended the game as the winner.
"I'll just answer this," Key excused herself from her teammates and went out of the room with her phone in hand
"Papa…" her teammates heard her say before her voice disappeared as the door is closed
"Oh, her father already knows that she's in E-Sports by now, right?" Quant asked them
"She's the off-laner of Season 7 National Champion," Alexei said while still playing
"Papa sent me a message, what happened?" Key asked the person from the other line as she closed the door, cutting off the sound from inside the room
[Chantel…] A woman's low and weak voice called her from the other line
"Do you want me to come?" Key asked another question, her voice neither caring nor coaxing
[Don't make it hard for Auntie, Chantel.] A deep baritone voice scolded her from the other line
"Hey, Drystan," Key greeted casually as if he had not just reprimanded her
[She wanted to talk to you,] Drystan said and then she heard him say some more statements as if replying – to be precise – arguing back at someone before she heard the line end
"What happened this time?" Key asked indifferently after answering Drystan's call the second time
[Auntie… she rejected her medicine.] Drystan replied in a low tone
"Is she still looking for Chela?" Key asked and she heard a low hum from the other line
[The doctor said she wouldn't have much longer time… but Auntie… she just wants to spend it with Uncle Kendrick and Chela… that's not possible, is it? After all, his wife needs him more and Chela is busy with your family business.] Drystan said from the other line, his voice was laced with worry but exuded an aura of the young master he is
[You played longer in the stream on purpose because you wanted to check on her, didn't you? The repetitive movements so she could claim she knew how you're thinking… you're doing it for her…] Drystan said, to which Key didn't even make a sound as a reply
Indeed, she knew and noticed that a certain person is watching her stream since her arrival in Gallia.
Lolita Desmond, Key's mother on paper, met Seachela and Sanchi's father in Gallia while living in the very house where they are staying now. She knew why she suddenly reached out to her, staying in this house gave Lolita hope that she'll earn his favor and that he once again 'fell' for her.
However, everyone else in Desmond understood that he approached her according to Lady Ruiz's orders to create a new identity for Key, and they chose to time Key's arrival into their household with the failure of Lolita's marriage, right after her divorce.
This wasn't entirely Kitten's plan, nor Key's, it was Lolita's father, the Old Master of the Desmond who asked them to arrive after his daughter's divorce to teach her a lesson.
It was just purely business, everyone else understood that even those from the younger generation, but still felt pity for Lolita because she was still blood-related.
[She was proud as a mother to you, and she wished to do the same with Chela even when it's not possible…] Drystan's words sounded like a complaint but his tone reflected how much he pity his aunt
"She needs to drink her medication, Drystan, I'm no doctor but it's the only thing that can help her with her condition. She's rejecting therapy, rejecting medication will push her spiraling down." Key said, her voice laced with pity
"Taking quetiapine, risperidone, and aripiprazole, while undergoing individual therapy, vocational rehabilitation, and supported employment will slow down her condition, but with her declining her therapy, she can't stop her medications." She reminded him
[What can we do…?] Drystan asked and Key sighed while massaging her temples
"Hand the phone to her," Key said
[You know that the doctor said…] Drystan trailed off
"She still hasn't recovered from her delusion, but you wanted her to get better, right?" Key asked
There was a long silence in the other line; Key understood that Drystan was weighing the pros and cons of letting her talk to Lolita Desmond.
In this situation, the benefits somewhat outweigh the negative consequences of the choice.
[For a moment,] Drystand said, breaking the silence
Key heard footsteps and movement, a door creaking open, then Drystan talking to someone before she heard a sob from the other line.
[Did you miss Mama, Chantel?] Lolita's weak and hoarse – probably from crying – echoed
"I heard you stopped taking your meds…" Key made her voice sound worried
[I don't like it… I forget about your face…] A sniffing sound followed after the woman from the other line finished speaking
"But it's for your improvement, don't you think you should keep taking your medicine and attending therapy, instead of making it hard for your family who just want you to get better?" Key asked
Key wanted that – she wanted to forget some people's faces, their names, and the role they played in her life – because living for a long time meant she met and interacted with millions of people who passed and aged.
This was the consequence of her chosen fate, a choice she didn't realize she had made back then.
[Will you come to visit me when I do?] The old woman asked expectantly
"Perhaps after the international league," Key replied, not promising anything
[I'll wait for you, my Chantel. Mama misses you so much.] Lolita said warmly despite her weak voice
"Hmm… I have to go back to training." Key said and dropped the call
Her gaze landed on a photo frame hanging in the hallway, she didn't expect that despite the renovation that Poupee did to the manor, the photo frame of her child version standing between Lolita Desmond and the man who fathered Chela and Sanchi remained hanging.
This was the only photo she had with both of Keychantel Desmond's legal parents, as this was the time when Seachela and Sanchi's biological mother finally accepted the fact that for the sake of benefits and because their whole family is forever indebted to Khaalida Ruiz, her husband has to father a child with Lolita Desmond on paper.
All of them knew first-hand just how messy and chaotic the social circle of the high society could be for the sake of benefits and gains.
