Chapter 86 - National Champions

"Develop, we take the Hydra at 5," Rasheed reminded them

"Yes, Captain," they still dared take the Hydra at Level 5 because most of their playing shinigamis are strong in the early part of the game

Both teams decided to just level up, there was no clashing involved as all the players farmed within their towers' defense circles.

"Kashmiri left," Monk informed them after JLNC's off-laner headed to the bushes

"Quant left too," Fox reported after JLNC's support left their Captain alone

"Let's use this to our advantage." Deck said

"We'll attack their Captain," he said

"Quant's here!" Vita exclaimed after his Vis is pushed into JLNC's defense tower

"Where's Wings?" Monk asked

"I'm stunned, Kashmiri's Ausu is here." Wings replied while watching his Clypeus receive damage from Kashmiri and Opal

"We'll attack their captain, he's vulnerable." Deck said and their shinigami started moving toward JLNC's Captain who is busy farming

"Wait, El's on his way down," Monk said

"I'll attack their defense tower." He added

"No, wait, Kashmiri's on her way down too!" Wings informed them

{"What an unexpected turn of events!"} Elvis Letterman said in amusement

{"The members of JLNC are attacking and moving around and this seems to confuse the other team, but as you can see on the screen, IBJ is not letting them do as they please and they are now taking things to their advantage by attacking the lanes that they left vulnerable."} Gino Morin narrated the current turn of events

{"It seems like JLNC wants to get a quick victory in this third round,"} Elvis Letterman said

{"Not that we can blame them, Elvis, the past two rounds lasted more than half an hour each, you can sense the fatigue from our players."} Gino Morin replied

Just as Monk started attacking the defense tower in the middle lane, he was hit by Pylae's rapire, pushing his shinigami into the defense circle of JLNC's defense tower.

It was unexpected as Monk thought that El had headed to aid JLNC's captain in the bottom lane, however, it didn't end there as he was stunned as soon as Kashmiri appeared from the bushes.

Kashmiri used her shinigami's stunning skill to immobilize his shinigami while it was within their defense tower causing it to be unable to retaliate against El's attacks and the damage from the tower.

"Kashmiri used her stunning skill on me, she's heading down," Monk informed Fox and Deck

"Copy that, Captain," Fox and Deck replied

"Are you in the bottom lane now?" Quant asked while his Sournoise helped Opal's Fero deal with the opponent's Clypeus and Vis

"I'm here now," Key replied as she used her Ausu's second skill to push Deck into their defense tower then stunned him

"I'll deal with Deck," Key announced while Rasheed's Blitz charged attacks against Fox's Bellum

'FIRST BLOOD' red flashed on the large screen alongside the upbeat music and the first blood is IBJ's Vita.

It was inevitable for IBJ's top-laner to lose in a one-on-one face-off against JLNC's top-laner as not only is his shinigami pushed into their opponent's defense circle, his Vis faced off against the tank-type shinigami, Fero.

"Oh, yeah, level five, here we go!" Opal exclaimed before his shinigami took out an opponent's minion

"I'm on level four, two more kills to five," Quant reported

"Level three, one more kill to level four," El reported

"Level four," Rasheed informed them

"How about Kashmiri?"

"I'm dead," Kashmiri replied while staring at her grey screen

She managed to take out Deck but Fox took her out immediately after her kill.

She now has a one-kill one-death count, and she's already plotting how to level up to 6 as soon as she resurrects.

"What level were you?" Quant asked

"Four," Key replied

"How many seconds 'til you resurrect?" El asked

"Five seconds," Key replied

After Quant and Opal took out Vita and Wings in the top lane they headed to the Kitsune's Forest to take out the kitsune, meanwhile, El managed to kill Monk and is now heading to aid Rasheed in the bottom lane in his fight against Fox.

Things didn't go in Fox's favor as just like what happened with Kashmiri, El's Pylae took out his Bellum and took over the bottom lane.

As soon as Key resurrected, she headed to the Manticore's Den and started dealing with the Manticore, and when Wings resurrected, he decided to deal with the Manticore as well, inevitably clashing with Kashmiri in the Manticore's Den.

Vita, the round's first blood, headed to the top lane and decided to take advantage of the fact that both Quant and Opal are in the Kitsune's Forest to deal damage to JLNC's tower.

And, he's not the only one who had this idea, Monk also headed to the middle lane upon resurrection and decided to take the opportunity of EL being out of his lane to deal damage on the defense tower in his lane.

He was taken by surprise when he was pushed into JLNC's defense tower by EL again as he didn't expect that El had already ventured back up to the middle lane after destroying their defense tower in the bottom lane.

At the same time, Opal headed up to the top lane to deal with Vita, only to be greeted by Vis's second skill as soon as Vita spotted him.

Opal and Quant are two of the highest leveled players on the map currently and it was in Opal's favor as it meant that his defense is higher, although his attack is comparable to only a level 2 fighter-type shinigami.

He managed to defend their defense tower while dealing with the Vita until Quant finished off the Kitsune and helped him, Quant's attack took their opponent off guard as he came from behind, pushing him into their defense tower's defense circle.

With their attacks combined with the defense tower's defense damage, they managed to take out Vita within seconds.

"A little help here," Key called out, as she was not only receiving damage from Wings but also the Manticore and she can only focus her attacks on the manticore, or else Wings will be able to steal it

Quant immediately headed there just as an announcement of JLNC claiming the manticore appeared on the screen.

As soon as Quant arrived, he used Sournoise's first skill, Spiorad, to control Clypeus and made him stand still while Kashmiri's Ausu repeatedly dealt damage to him.

"Damn," Wings grumbled as he was killed again and now he'd have to wait for 15 seconds to resurrect

"They're aiming for a quick victory, I guess," Monk commented

"We're all exhausted," Fox muttered while navigating the map to the bottom lane after resurrecting

"Head to the Hydra's Lair," Rasheed ordered them

"Yes, Captain!"

The members of JLNC easily gathered in the Hydra's Lair, coming from all directions and dealing damage to the monster as soon as it is within their attack range.

They used their second and ultimate skills as soon as it's available to easily claim the Hydra, they are already leading in gold with their claim over two monsters on the map and they are also leading in the number of destroyed towers as they have destroyed IBJ's defense towers in all lanes.

"How long until your ult's available?" Rasheed asked

"Twelve seconds," Key answered

"Eight," Quant replied

"Seven," Opal replied

"Ten," El answered

"Kashmiri, El, save your ult for later," Rasheed ordered

"Quant, Opal, on three," he ordered the two

"One,"

"Two,"

"Three," they said simultaneously just as they attacked the Hydra with their combined ultimate skills

{"JLNC claimed the Hydra!"}

The fans cheered, even with the fact that they lost their defense tower in the bottom lane in their quest to claim the Hydra, their gain far outweighs their loss.

"Destroy the towers," Rasheed ordered

They dispersed into the jungles around the Hydra's Lair but they all headed in the same direction, apart from Rasheed who came to the bottom lane to face off with Fox.

As soon as Opal and El arrived, they clashed with the newly resurrected members of IBJ who had decided to camp inside their base and prepare for their arrival.

Quant and Kashmiri's arrival pushed the battle lines into IBJ's base after they used their ultimate attacks to wipe out the opponents, they managed to ace IBJ completely as at the same moment, Rasheed managed to take out Fox.

"We used our ults," Key reported

"We took them out," El reported

"Proceed with the towers," Rasheed replied as his shinigami made its way to IBJ's base

They continued dealing damage to IBJ's final outer defense tower, then, they scattered into destroying IBJ's Base Tower and their inner defense tower.

Rasheed, Opal, and El focused on destroying the Base Tower, with Opal receiving the damage from the Base Tower every time their minion dies as to keep Rasheed and El on the map, while Key and Quant alternately barging into the defense circle to deal damage and jumping out of it after they attack.

IBJ's members resurrected back into the map and tried to defend their base tower but Ausu's stunning skill managed to stun them while Quant used Spiorad to bring the opponent to get damaged by their own base tower's defense circle.

{"Congratulations, JLNC!"}
