The goon cautiously watched his every step, making sure not to make even the tiniest bit of sound while heading towards Xander with the dagger.
Xander on the other hand looked completely relaxed, meanwhile the time in his head was ticking and he was running out of patience despite his calm composure.
He wasn't that stupid to not have sensed something behind him, he was the master of this game and no one played it better than him.
He wanted his opponent to think they were foolishly winning by remaining oblivious to the fact there was someone behind him and once he felt his opponent had gotten too close, with lightning speed he had seized his hand midair, just before he could get stabbed with the dagger his opponent was holding.
The goons eyes widened in horror as he was caught right in his own trap, staring at the being who had seized his hand mid air with a devilish look playing in his eyes.
"Finally, I was actually running out of patience."
He reached for the dagger in the goons hand and took it from his grip, the goon was terrified of his phenomenal strength and dark aura the person before him possessed, he could feel a cold shiver go down his spine.
Xander wasn't going to hurt them, he felt too stressed to stain his own hands at the moment but why hurt them when he can actually watch them do the dirty job themselves.
His optics instantly changed from those moonless dark eyes to a bloody red, it remained that way for a few seconds as he locked gaze with the goon he was holding midair.
"Kneel before me." He commanded.
The red glow in his eyes finally died and he dropped the goon who instantly knelt before him, the rest of the two goons watched in disbelief, unable to access what was happening but nearly jumped out of their skin the moment a bat headed straight to their hiding spot, hitting the iron and making them flee from that place.
How did he spot them??
The little children finally got a chance to scream out for help as they bit at the goons hand.
"Help us!...help us!!" which Xander didn't fail to hear as he raised his head up.
The goons finally revealed themselves, standing before Xander while pulling their guns out, pointing it straight at him.
The little children stared at Xander with pleading eyes as they had cried enough to the point they couldn't cry anymore, judging from how small they looked, the boy could barely be higher than six years while the girl looked four.
These goons were rough handling them and Xander noticed every bit of it, it only brought back memories of what he had to go through in these hands of this type of men, reminding him of his own pain as a child and seeing another child get treated that way made the fire inside of him escalate further.
"Let.Them.Go."
He warned but the goons refused to heed, pointing the gun to the little girl's head instead with a threatening smirk while Xander's gaze darkened further.
"If you don't let us go, I'll kill this little girl right in front of you!!"
Xander realized he was equally being threatened, making a slow but charming smirk play at the corner of his lips but it was enough to emphasize the danger these goons were getting themselves into.
"Let.Them.Go."
And this time around, the goons met his red eyes and felt something happen to them, almost like they were losing control of their own bodies and falling into an inescapable trance.
"What's happening??" They had no control over their own bodies as they freed the little children without their own will.
The children fought their way out of his grip and ran straight to Xander, hiding behind him for protection while peeping from behind. Xander stared at them, feeling relieved they were unharmed before turning his gaze to the confused goons.
"Good."
He stared at the goon who was still kneeling before him, completely under his spell.
"Say hi to your friends, while ripping their eyes out!" He ordered coldly, "and remember, it should be a silent death, I don't want to hear their ugly screams while you do it."
The goon immediately got to his feet, already controlled by Xander as he got his dagger back and headed towards the rest goons who stared in disbelief.
"Stop! What are you doing??"
Xander crouched before the little children, swaying their minds from the bloody scene about to happen.
"Do you want these idiots to get punished for abducting you?"
The little boy nodded. "They separated us from our mom and even hit her, plus they were really mean to us!" He sobbed which angered Xander even more.
****
"This is the place right?" Anxi asked, pointing towards the parking lot while the man who had accompanied them nodded.
"Yes, I saw them go there with two little kids, a boy and a girl."
The woman immediately stared at the parking lot and wanted to go in but Anxi stopped her midway, she understood what the woman was going through right now but just running in there won't help matters.
"It's dangerous in there, going in just like that would only put you in more danger, we should call the cops first."
"My kids are in there, I don't even know what could be happening to them, I need to…"
"Mom!!!"
The lady immediately looked behind Anxi to see her two little angels walking beside a man, they looked unharmed and smiled at her.
"My kids!"
Anxi equally turned back to look at them and she felt her heart triple beat at the sight of Xander, the two kids let go of Xander's hand as they happily ran straight to their mom.
She hugged them tight, kissing their faces as relief and happiness washed over her, she was on the verge of crying again but with a smile on her face.
"Thank goodness you're alright."
Anxi was equally relieved to see the kids were alright and reunited with their mom but was equally surprised to see Xander here.
"You're here?"
He stood beside her while the little kids turned to look at him.
"Mom, those bad people wanted to take us away but he showed up and saved us from them." The boy told his mom while the little girl nodded in response.
"Those bad people were really mean to us but he dealt with them like those heroes in my storybook." The little girl equally commented while their mother turned her grateful gaze to Xander.
"I owe you my life for this, both of you."
She gratefully said to Anxi and Damian.
"Thank you so much!"
"No no, we're just glad we found your kids and you all are equally safe." Anxi genuinely stated while the lady turned her gaze to Xander again, recognizing him almost immediately as her eyes widened.
"I know you, you're the CEO of Starcrest company!" She exclaimed while Xander only smiled in return.
"Mom, he's equally handsome just like those princes in my fairytale books." The little girl added childishly, the lady nodded in agreement to her little daughter.
"It's late." Xander finally spoke up. "Catching a taxi is quite difficult here, my driver will take you back home safely." He added that while pointing at the dark Porsche at the corner of the road.
The driver received his signal and got down from the car, heading towards them.
The lady shook her head in response, unwilling to accept more of his favors.
"You've done enough for me and I'm already grateful."
Xander wasn't ready to receive such a response and turned his gaze to the little ones. "Don't you two need a ride home?"
They nodded immediately while Xander turned his gaze back to the lady. "Sorry but I can't possibly say no now, your kids need a ride."
"Thank you so much." The lady was genuinely grateful while Anxi remained taken aback by his good act.
"Will we see you again?" The little girl asked while Xander crouched to their level.
"If you want to see me again, just read your books."
She smiled and he winked at both children before his driver took them away.
He turned his gaze to Anxi who remained still like a statue.
"And you! What did I say about walking around at night?"
His magnetic voice jolted her back into reality as she blinked at him.
"What did you say?"
"I don't like repeating myself, let's go."
"Go where?"
"Your place." He surprisingly held her hand and Anxi found herself walking along the street with Xander.
