Anxi could feel herself on cloud nine after stepping out of his office. Today was indeed her lucky day, probably because her grandmother fed her lucky sweets for goodluck.
She also had that stranger to be thankful for but she didn't see him here like he promised, was it possible he was some guardian angel?
Well, if reincarnation and transmigration were real, then so should guardian angels.
On her way out of the fancy building, she bumped into a lady who was equally looking pleased and it seemed both were so carried away with happiness, they didn't notice each other.
"I'm so sorry." Anxi was the first to apologise, the lady smiled warmly picking no sort of offense which eased Anxi's heart.
"It's okay, we're both at fault here." She candidly said as both ladies bent to pick up their files.
Anxi took the little time she had to study her, she looked really stunning and had such smooth and embellished pale skin, her sable black hair flowing in curls across her back, matching with her round glasses which made her look cute and her big hazel fox-like eyes were certainly filled with life.
Unlike Anxi who was simply dressed in office wear, the young lady was dressed in a sequined mini-gown and was more than ready for whatever reason she came here for.
"I see you're equally here for an interview."
The young lady asked and turns out she was equally studying Anxi the whole time.
"Already did the interview, what about you?"
"Same and I got the job."
"Me too!"
"Awesome! It's a win-win then."
The two girls were more than excited about their new job it didn't really bother them they were just strangers meeting for the first time.
"I was about to head out and celebrate, if you're free, I'm sure you wouldn't mind joining me?"
Anxi remained quiet, well she just got a job, a good paying job so it'll be stupid of her not to celebrate the moment, especially since she had no friends, celebrating with someone was more than enough.
"Sure, why not?"
The lady who equally seemed to be of Anxi's age or a year older smiled at her response.
"Then come on, let's go."
The two beautiful ladies stepped out of the company with a cheerful expression, and it turns out the lady already had a beautiful luxury white car waiting for them outside which startled Anxi.
"You have a car?"
She nodded with a smile while rolling the key in her hands. "Yup, come on, you're lucky to have ran into me, we'll definitely be touring the whole of Yu City today."
Anxi was still dumbfounded, judging from her mode of dressing and now a fancy car, she certainly doesn't look like someone who needed a job as much as her right now.
The two ladies got into the car and with just a kick of the starting gear, they were off, they talked for a while and exchanged names and pleasantries.
Just like she said earlier, they drove all around Yu City giving Anxi a chance to finally view the beautiful sight of its tall glittering buildings, majestic lakes and vibrant colors. It indeed was a pretty place.
They didn't stop until they arrived at a bar later in the evening and Anxi was a bit hesitant to go in, she's never been to a bar before.
"A bar?"
"My dear, this is the best place to hold a celebration, come on." She excitedly got down from the car, Anxi didn't feel the need to worry, so far she didn't sense any negative aura around her so she felt at ease.
They both got down and happily walked in.
The bar wasn't too filled like Anxi had expected, just a few peeps chilling and relaxing to the soft music being played.
A few of them seemed to be having a wonderful time at a corner but Anxi didn't pay much attention to that, she strangely felt safe around her new colleague.
"See? Not so bad am I right?" The lady winked which earned her a smile from Anxi, she walked over to the counter and smiled flirtatiously at the bartender.
"What do I owe you two pretty ladies?" The young bartender asked while meeting her gaze with an equally flirtatious stare.
"Surprise us."
"I never disappoint, just a minute." And he walked out, Anxi took a seat beside her and let out a soft sigh.
"So uhm…Xandria right?"
Xandria turned her beautiful gaze to Anxi and nodded. "Mhmmn."
"Forgive me if I'm crossing the line I mean we just met but you don't look like someone who's in need of a job."
Xandria chuckled lightly at the curiosity written over the girl's face but didn't seem offended at the slightest.
"You're correct but I'm not actually working for Starcrest company, I just had an interview with a director of the filmmaking industry and I was accepted, life never seems to go your way when you have a brother who owns big companies."
Her casual response left Anxi baffled for a minute as she tried to rethink her word's in her head, did she say brother??
"Your brother?"
"Yes, your boss, the CEO of Starcrest company is my brother who literally sealed my account and wants me to get a job and not eat all his money, his way of teaching me the 'value of money'." She rolled her eyes dramatically and Anxi wasn't totally surprised, she was beautiful, hot and possessed that chastening aura.
"So tell me, what job did you get?"
"I got appointed as his secretary."
"Wow, nice! My brother is actually tough to deal with but I wish you all the best."
Their two glasses of drinks finally arrived and Xandria took a sip of it.
"I love it!" She mused, winking at the bartender who smiled charmingly.
"Told yah."
Anxi equally took a sip and although it held no taste, it felt refreshing which caught her interest.
"Nice!"
"Cheers to our new job!"
"Cheers!"
They clinked their glasses together and gulped down the whole thing, it's the first time Anxi actually tasted something like this.
They went for another round and another round while chatting happily and the effect of the drink was starting to kick in, especially for Anxi since it was her first time.
"I'm so happy today, I...I want more of this, it's so good." She smiled sheepishly while Xandria watched her idly, she's just down to her third glass and is already feeling the heat?
"First timer?"
Anxi admittedly nodded her head which was something Xandria didn't see coming.
"Gosh, you're indeed lucky to have met me, but it's not safe to be so drunk at night, I'll take you home, come on."
"No...one more, just one.."
"No more."
"What's going on here?"
Xandria was instantly startled by the sudden deep voice behind her, she didn't need to turn back to know who it was as his intimidating and forbidden aura filled the air almost immediately.
"Xander?"
