The tent was arranged as Princess Eleanor walked towards it.
"So should we go inside?" Princess Eleanor smiled as she looked at Sir Kit who did not know how to react.
"We?" I asked silently as he waited for Princess Eleanor to explain her words.
Sir Kit could not understand how Princess Eleanor could say such words. Wasn't she being shameless? And on top of that, she dared to say it in front of everyone present. Sir Kit only had a question in mind, what was the meaning of this?
Sir Kit did not understand at all. He shook his head as he took a step back from the Princess. He did not want any misunderstanding to be created here. After all, there were many spies of the Emperor sent to report every Princesses move.
Princess Eleanor could sense that Sir Kit was reluctant. It was clear that he did not want to have any unwanted connections with her. 'Maybe Sir Kit is afraid about people's view.'
Princess Eleanor nodded as she thought her thoughts were in the right direction. But she had her reasons. She could not sleep alone in the tent surrounded by the people sent by her Uncle.
The two knights were keeping an eye on her. She knew that her Uncle had asked them to return once the royal ball was arranged but Princess Eleanor had a fear. Fear that maybe the King of the Angevin Kingdom will change his mind and ask someone to assassinate her.
The fear was too strong for Princess Eleanor to ignore. She swallowed and decided to take a step forward. She needed to keep herself safe and the best way was to utilize Sir Kit who had promised her safety.
From the corner of her eyes, Princess Eleanor could see Lady Gisella looking in her direction. The smile on the Princess's face widened as her uncertain feelings turned strong.
Princess Eleanor had suddenly become determined. She had a rebellious side to her which was coming out. The one thing Princess Eleanor hated the most was when others told her how to behave.
Maybe it was because, after her family's death, everyone started telling her how she should behave. Her Uncle and Aunt started looking down at her with pity and started controlling her life. That was the reason Princess Eleanor went to her maternal grandparent's house. She hated the feeling.
And now, she got the same feeling from Lady Gisella. Although Princess Eleanor knew that the Lady did not look down at her. At most, Lady Gisella was thankful that she was ready to go to the Roulux Empire by her own will.
And yet Princess Eleanor felt like Lady Gisella was trying to control her. She told her not to be close to Sir Kit which made Princess Eleanor more eager to uncover the man beneath the mask.
"Lady Gisella said I can let you sleep in my room if I feel afraid." Princess Eleanor took a step closer to Sir Kit as her lips curled up once she saw the disbelief in Sir Kit's gaze. "I am a little afraid that the knights will kill me."
Princess Eleanor's words were soft and low, almost like a whisper but it was loud enough for Sir Kit to hear.
Sir Kit looked down as he tried to observe the Princess. He felt like even though Princess Eleanor was smiling there was a slight fear that she was trying to hide in those peach like eyes.
Sir Kit could not help but sigh. He never believed that Lady Gisella would agree to it but if Princess Eleanor was stubborn then she really must be afraid, right?
Sir Kit believed in his evaluation. His senses were strong and he could feel the knight's gaze following the Princess. Their sight was not filled with respect as it should have been but an unclear question.
It felt as if the knights were troubled whether to protect the Princess in case of danger or to protect themselves.
It was never a good thing if such feelings started to form a seed in a knight's heart. It indicated that he was no longer loyal and could not think twice to betray his master. Sir Kit was sure that the hearts of the knights from the Angevin Kingdom had long been destroyed.
'Was it the reason why Princess Eleanor wanted a loyal knight for her protection?' Sir Kit observed Princess Eleanor who was waiting eagerly for his answer.
Sir Kit took a deep breath as he nodded his head. He could not tell the real reason why he agreed but in his eyes, Princess Eleanor was someone who was abandoned by the people, just like him. Maybe that was the reason he felt like helping her.
Princess Eleanor giggled as she walked into the tent in excitement. "I will arrange everything properly."
Princess Eleanor did not wait for Sir Kit to react as she entered the tent. Sir Kit could only see the Princess work through the cloth forming the tent. Although only her figure could be seen due to the candles in the tent, Sir Kit could see the excitement through her body language.
"Did you agree?" Sir Kit heard a voice behind him. He was too familiar with it as his gaze sharped before he turned to face Lady Gisella.
"Yes, I did." Sir Kit did not deny it. What was the use of denial when others could see it at night? Sir Kit's voice was loud, making sure that everyone heard him. "I will be escorting the princess at night. For that, I will be looking out for dangers. The Princess is a prospective Crown Princess and who knows if the other Kingdom's people try to kill her to give their own Princesses an upper hand."
Sir Kit knew that his explanation was logical. Killing people was a natural fact that everyone does when it involves things like the crown, especially when the crown belonged to the Roulux Empire itself.
