The carriage stopped at the side.
When Princess Eleanor walked down from the carriage taking Sir Kit's hands. Her eyes revolved around as she looked around in the darkness.
Although the night was in full bloom and the moon was shining, the darkness was binding. Princess Eleanor saw the guards lit the lamps as she bit her lips. Her body shivered as she looked around in a daze.
Soon the path was lit and she could see the place where they had stopped. It was plain ground surrounded by thick forest. Soon Princess Eleanor's body was covered by a thick coat.
Princess Eleanor was shocked as she looked up only to see Sit Kit looking down at her. His mask made him look dangerous as his eyes glowed with a powerful aura. Princess Eleanor bit her lips as she took a step back.
She could not tell why but her heart was beating faster. Was it because of the night or because Sir Kit was too close to her, Princess Eleanor could not say, but she was sure that something was different?
'Why do I feel like Sir Kit is a little different now?'
'He wasn't like this in the carriage.'
Princess Eleanor swallowed as she saw people building a small tent for their stay. She took a step towards the other side as she said, "I will check on Lady Gisella."
Sir Kit did not say anything. His eyes were sharp as he took a powerful step towards the carriage but seeing Princess Eleanor run away like a small cat, his lips curled up. He decided to stay here for a while and make sure that their staying arrangements were perfect.
Sir Kit was confused by his actions. He knew that if it was anyone else he would not have given his coat. He was such a person. But when he saw Princess Eleanor looking like a lost child alone in the cold night he could not help himself. He felt responsible for her and felt like he should take care of it.
'I am her escort.' Sir Kit thought. His gaze shivered as he nodded his head. It was a logical explanation.
Once Sir Kit was satisfied with his explanation he smiled. He decided to keep his emotions in check.
Princess Eleanor walked into the carriage and she knocked on the door. Maybe Nia saw her coming as she opened the door in a hurry.
"Princess." Nia bowed her head. Her eyes were shivering as if checking the Princess up and down to make sure that nothing is wrong with her.
Princess Eleanor walked into the carriage as she saw Lady Gisella sitting there, looking outside. Her gaze looked at the workers who were making the tents as if observing their work.
"How is the Lady feeling now?" Princess Eleanor asked as she blinked. She did not know why but she felt like Lady Gisella was not very happy.
"It is much better." Lady Gisella nodded her head as she bit her lips. She looked straight at Princess Eleanor as she continued, "The Princess should not have let me use her carriage."
"I wanted the Lady to sleep comfortably. I hope Nia has taken good care of yours."
Lady Gisella was silent as she looked at Princess Eleanor. Her gaze moved towards Nia. "Yes, the Princess's lady in waiting has taken good care of me."
Lady Gisella was grateful but something was bothering her. She looked at the Princess as she continued, "I would like to talk with the Princes alone."
Princess Eleanor was silent. She looked at Nia, who understood her gaze, and walked out.
"Princess Eleanor is a kind soul." Lady Gisella stated as she continued, "I never thought that the Princess would give her luxurious carriage to me and sit in a small carriage herself."
Princess Eleanor smiled. She could sense that the words Lady Gisella was saying will be related somewhere. It was a strong feeling as she bit her lips.
Lady Gisella could see that Princess Eleanor was nervous. Maybe it was what she wanted to see. "But I don't understand why the Princess would agree to travel alone in a carriage with an unknown man?"
Princess Eleanor was silent. She did not understand what was wrong. What was Lady Gisella trying to get at?
"Is Lady Gisella talking about Sir Kit?" Princess Eleanor asked in doubt as she raised her eyebrows. When she saw Lady Gisella's lips twitch Princess Eleanor smiled. She knew that she had guessed right.
"What is Lady Gisella worried about? That there will be rumors when we reach the Empire or is it that Lady Gisella does not trust Sir Kit?" Princess Eleanor rubbed her chin as if she was in deep thoughts. "Lady should have known Sir Kit before I did. I am sure Sir Kit is a respectable man who knows how to keep his distance."
Lady Gisella's eyes shook. "I trust Sir Kit." She said in defense.
"So if Lady truth Sir Kit, then could it be that the Lady does not trust me?" Princess Eleanore giggled before her eyes turned sharp. "I hope the Lady accepts that Sir Kit is my escort now. He is responsible for me and there is nothing wrong if he sits with me in the same carriage."
Princess Eleanor's lips curled up, "Why not let Sir Kit guard me at night? I think it is his job too."
Lady Gisella's eyes widened in shock. She could not bring herself to say anything else. Although she had many things to say, the words refused to come out, "You shouldn't .."
Princess Eleanor smiled as she blinked, "If Lady Gisella is worried that I might not let him sleep then I can give Sir Kit a small place in the corner of my tent."
"Princess you are crossing the line." Lady Gisella gritted her teeth. How could she allow Sir Kit to sleep in Princess Eleanor's tent?
Lady Gisella was confident that Sir Kit would refuse it himself but she hated Princess Eleanor's guts.
Princess Eleanor got up and walked out of the carriage with confidence. "I will let Sir Kit know. His sleeping arrangement has been decided."
