"Why did he want to work as a lecturer at Quinlan University? Is he tired of teaching at your campus or does he feel like this city means nothing to him anymore?" Evelyn guessed.
"I don't know ..." answered Isabelle flatly, then she wiped her tears slowly.
A few hours later, Evelyn had dinner with her parents, sister, and son. They ate slowly without anyone talking to each other. Between dinners, Evelyn occasionally daydreamed thinking about moving the man she loved to London.
For years, she waited for the right time to be reunited with his schoolmates. Now, when Evelyn finally had the courage inside of her, Felix drifted away from Evelyn instead.
How can I meet Felix in London? If I later visit him there, will Felix's family accept me well? Evelyn thought, the look on her face was so sad and listless.
"Eve, why don't you finish your meal?? Is there something you are thinking about?" Her mother asked gently.
"I was thinking about Felix, Mom," She answered quietly.
"You are not the only one who thinks about that man, me, mom, and dad also think about Felix," said Isabelle.
"You don't have to think about Felix anymore. Maybe he is not your soul mate, you better focus on taking care of and raising Paul. Also ... opening your heart to another man," Wesley advised his eldest daughter, then he took a deep breath.
"But, I just love him, Dad," Evelyn was so desperate, her love for Felix was so deep.
"I know and understand how you feel about him, but he doesn't remember you as his high school friend," Wesley said.
While they were talking in the dining room, suddenly there was a knock on Wesley's door from outside.
Knock, knock, knock ....
"Ah, it looks like someone's here. Wesley, did you invite your friend to dine with us?" asked Victoria, frowning.
"I didn't invite any of my friends to come here, My Wife. Maybe that person is Isabelle's friend," Wesley replied, guessing who was visiting that night, "Bella, quickly open the door for that person.
Isabelle nodded slowly, "Alright, Dad."
The beautiful girl with blonde and straight hair immediately put the fork and knife on the plate, got up from her seat, and walked into the living room.
Knock, knock, knock ... kriettt ...
Isabelle opened the door, she saw a handsome, neat, fragrant, and charming man standing and smiling sweetly in front of Isabelle. Deg! Deg! Isabelle's heart skipped a beat as her eyes met the man's.
"Mr. Felix?" She asked in disbelief.
"Good evening, Isabelle," Felix replied kindly.
"Go--good evening ... I--I didn't think that tonight ... you would come to the house..." Isabelle stammered in surprise and delight.
"Is Evelyn home?" Felix asked, his eyes looking for a woman who claimed to be Isabelle's older sister.
"Sh-- She is home ... please come in, Sir," replied the tall and slender girl.
"It's true that Evelyn is your sister," Felix added, he stepped into the living room after Isabelle ushered him in.
"That's right, she is my sister. Pardon, how do you know my home address?" Isabelle stood transfixed in front of her favorite lecturer.
"I know your home address from the administration department of the faculty," Felix explained.
"This house is far from the city, are you having trouble finding my house?"
"No," Felix said simply.
"Alright, please have a seat. I will tell her if you look for her. What would you like to drink?"
"Don't bother, Isabelle. I will only be here a moment," Felix felt reluctant to be offered a drink by that girl.
"I don't feel bothered, on the contrary I am very happy because you want to come all the way here. Wait a moment, Sir," The girl chuckled at the man her sister loved.
Felix sat down on a simple and old-fashioned sofa, then he nodded his head at Isabelle, "Okay."
A moment later, Isabelle ran into the dining room and came over to Evelyn at the dining table.
"Sis, he came to look for you," She said with sparkling eyes.
"Who is coming looking for Evelyn at this time of night, Bella?" Victoria asked, she furrowed her brows.
"I know, that person must be Paul's father, right??" Wesley replied.
Paul was stunned to hear his grandfather's words just now, he immediately stopped feeding sandwiches into his mouth.
"Grandpa, is Uncle Felix my father ?" Paul still thought that his biological father was Felix.
"No, Honey. He is not your father, but your future father," Isabelle gave Paul a happy smile, she stroked her nephew's head.
"Come on, let's meet Uncle Felix, Mom," said Paul excitedly.
Deg! Deg! Evelyn didn't know what to do, between believing or not believing her sister's words. What would she do when she met Felix in the living room?
"Come on, Sis," Isabelle couldn't wait for Evelyn to meet Felix in the living room.
"I--is he really Fe--Felix??" Evelyn swallowed her saliva.
"Right," Isabelle answered.
"I--I ... I don't dare meet him there," said Evelyn doubtfully.
"You must have the courage to meet the man you have loved for years, Sis," Isabelle said.
Would Evelyn meet Felix or not?
